This company called us, we said yes because the $1000 dollars worth of grocery coupons and savings bond and gas discounts and $25 babies r us card sounded good. As soon as we hung up, we thought...uh oh, that didn't sound safe...we'd better check this company out.
So we read all the reports here about people who didn't know they were signing up and their credit cards were charged. We said, well, at least we know our card is going to be charged, so let's try to get our money's worth out of this company for a few months.
This is my experience so far. First you get a card in the mail to fill out and request the items you are interested in. The grocery coupon flyer came. The deal is, you can request $10 worth of coupons at a time..you choose 50 products, but no guarantees exactly what the coupons will be, how much off, or which exact products you will get. Plus, there is a $2 shipping and handling fee each time. So to get your $1000 worth of coupons, you'd have to send these in (along with $2) one hundred times.
Then, we wanted the babies r us card they promised. I checked the box on the card for that. So they sent us a card to register for the $25 gift card...to be returned within 20 days of signing up. I did that. So then I received a claim card in the mail..I had to return it within 20 days of signing up and they would send me the gift card. Okay, now this is the third postcard I've filled out to receive the prize, and all have to get there within 20 days, I have to admit I didn't send in the third postcard, I decided that this company is too much work! I'm going to cancel.
Also, the thing about the $100 savings bond, you can't get one until you've been a member a year, there's a lot of fine print about how they can change this benefit at any time, it's not promised, and a $100 savings bond only costs $50 at a bank anyway, and you have to give your social security number to get a savings bond. I don't want to give these people my social security number. Also, after the experience with the gift card, I don't want to try to get %20 back on gas by buying through them.
I believe this company probably is legal, just barely, but they will make everything so difficult that it is nearly impossible to save any money through them, you'd have to work really hard.
