I purchased a pair of shoes at Easy Spirit Shoe Store #6347 at Citrus Park Town Center, Space 785, Tampa, FL on Sept 20, 2005. The shoes purchased cost 79.00 plus tax. I wore them for a total of 7 hours and they hurt my feet more than the cheap shoes that I was previously wearing before the purchase. I tried to return or exchange the shoes on Saturday, Sept. 24th and was refused. The manager of the store would not refund the money because the shoes were worn.........how am I suppose to know that these shoes will work with my feet if I don't wear them?

Also, when asked if she would exchange them.....her reply was: "Now that's really pushing it, don't you think?" I'm sorry, but $79.00 for shoes that I can't wear is a BIT MUCH, and the wonderful, CONDESCENDING ATTITUDE of "Miss Manager" put the whole situation over the top.......what kind of customer service is this? All of the anchor stores is this mall would gladly exchange or REFUND the money.........is your store special? (even good ole' would have refunded my money!)

Response to the EMPLOYEE

AUTHOR: Angela - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, May 13, 2015

If you are any representation of what type pf customer service this company provides, then I wouldn't want to do business there. Customer Service is all about the customer. Snide remarks in response to an unsatisfied customer's complaint is not doing the company you work for any favors. If you like your job amd appreciate what you do, you should represent yourself in a positive manner that would make others reconsider going in to your store.

Is That A Promise?

AUTHOR: Cory - (U.S.A.)

"I will never set FOOT in an Easy spirit shoe store again". Look at it this way, if every customer returned a $79 pair of shoes, that was worn for 7 hours, for a full refund, they'd be broke and out of business quicker then you could put your FOOT down. They can't resale the used shoes, so they's have to take the $79 loss. A $79 loss per customer is gonna add up. They're better off without "good" customers like you. I've been told it's best to try on shoes at the end of the day when your FOOT is at it's largest.

nice attitude Louise

AUTHOR: Chris - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, December 01, 2007

Louise, I went to the store 3 or 4 days after the purchase with a receipt and was
not offered the option to exchange or a merchandise credit. The "if you don't like it, go elsewhere" attitude seems to be alive and well with Easy Spirit employees. I seriously would never consider even stepping inside an Easy Spirit store again. Chalk one up for your attitude. Job well done.

Our Return Policy

AUTHOR: Louise - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 27, 2007

As a current employee of the same company I would like for you to know what the company policy is.

Returns of UNWORN merchandise will be accepted within 30 days of the date of purchase as long as they are acompanied by a receipt. In the event that the item is worn or past the 30 day mark, you may evenly exchange them or get a merchandise credit.

On a more personal note, I find it sad that you people spend forever trying on every single shoe in the store only to return them because "they didn't work". I never buy anything that I don't intend to keep. We are not in the business of renting shoes.

My advice to you is, if you don't like the service you are getting shop somewhere else. For every one person that stops returning, we have two more that will buy and keep.

Ha!

Oh silly me! You didn't expect them to resell the shoes ... you simply expected them to refund your money in full for the worn shoes, and take a full monetary loss in the name of "customer service?" Oh puhhlease. Methinks you need to learn the definition of customer service! It does NOT mean "give in to my unreasonable demands or I will cry rip-off!"

unreal

Did you honestly think that I expected them to RESELL the shoes? I'm talking customer service, here. Of course, when you go to try on shoes, there haven't been any other 'stinky' feet in those shoes, right? No one has ever tried on your new shoes! There is such a thing as a 'write off'.....kinda' like what I am doing with your advice, Peter from Pony.

Gross!!!

AUTHOR: Peter - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 27, 2005

Gross!!! Who would want to buy a pair of shoes that were on your stinky feet for many hours??!! I bet you never once thought about that ... you only thought about YOURSELF in your demanding ways.

If you buy a car and realize that you don't like it, do you bring it back to the dealer and demand a full refund?

If you buy a cake and eat half of it, do you then bring the other half back to the grocery store and demand a full refund because it "wasn't fresh enough?"

What about when you buy a box of condoms but realize they are too small for you ... do you think you're entitled to a refund on those too?

People like you who feel entitled to things at the expense of others truly make me sick.

wow Robert

AUTHOR: Chris - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 27, 2005

In a 'good choice world' your choice is only as good as the merchandise. Unfortunately, there is merchandise that is defective along with 'lemon cars'. The shoes were tried on but without wearing them for a good period of time, it is impossible to ensure their comfort. Easy Spirit is not dedicated to their customers - good or bad choice on my part. Customer service is a large part of industry today, but not in the Easy Spirit world or yours.....Robert.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Try them on first

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, September 25, 2005

This is what we do in "good choice world". Test drive cars there too, before we buy them. It works every time it's tried.

Why should they refund or exchange anything? What are they supposed to do with the shoes you wore? Sell them to someone else? They cannot do that.

Learn to make better decisions prior to purchase and you'll be more happy.
