I purchased a ring from the above seller on June 29,2004 off of eBay. The seller was selling under the user ID landofjewels. The ring was described as $595 Genuine Diamond & Sapphire Ring. I received the ring on July 12,2004.

What I got was NOTHING like the photos or description on the auction page that I bid on.

The ring has crooked Sapphire Stones, there was a broken diamond, & the gold pieces holding the Sapphires in place were broken. This ring was far from what has been described or pictured on the auction page.

I immediately took the ring to a jeweler in my area (mind you this jeweler has over 50 yrs experience & is highly recignized in my area) The jeweler after looking the ring over stated that the stones were in fact FAKE NOT GENUINE as stated in the auction & further more the ring was mayber worth $30 NOT $575.

I went home & e-mailed the seller telling him about the stones & misrepresentation of the item I received. I also told him what the jeweler had placed as a value on this ring. I then called the phone number that was provided by eBay with the seller's contact information they have on file. The phone number turned out to be a cell phone # & got me nowhere.

I left over 10 phone messeges asking to be contacted by the seller & never got a response. I also sent over 20 e-mails to the seller via different e-mail addresses I was able to find on the seler. NOTHING, NADA, ZIP!! No response.

I started filing claims with eBay as per their recommendation. I filed all the reports that I was asked to by eBay. I even filed with the BBB, IFCC, FTC, & the Postal Service Mail Fraud Division. I did receive responses from the BBB & Postal Service stating they were attempting to contact the seller.

Mind you that the address provided by the seller to me was PO BOX. I had to ALOT of searching & found out that this particular seller has about 5 different company names that they are selling under. I have also found 5 different addresses for this seller as well as phone number, e-mails addresses & owner's names.

I started contacting other buyers who had left Negative Feedback for this seller on eBay due to misrepresentation, not answering e-mails or phones calls, & not sending the items to the buyers after they had paid.

I was not getting much help from eBay so I contacted the seller's checkout company that they use for their auctions. I talked to the CEO of the company who was not too happy to hear about the dealings of this seller. I faxed all 45 + pages of documentation to the CEO as per his request. The CEO in return contacted the seller after contacting a person whom was dealing with my issue at eBay. After BOTH men contacted the seller I did finally receive a refund from the seller.

The seller was furious with me for contacting these people & filing the reports that I did against him. Attached to my refund was a letter stating that they did not believe my item was misrepresented, nor did they want me to return it as I had offered. They further more went on to say if I continued to slander them by telling others the facts that I had on them , it would be at my own expense.( I took that as a threat) It hasn't stopped me yet.

I want everyone to know that this person has ripped off over 5000++ people on eBay & is still getting away with it. Ebay seems to not be too worried about this as of right now but said they will monitor this seller.

AUTHOR: David - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, August 09, 2004

Ebay is quickly losing what little credibility it has left by allowing this kind of scurrilous slime to continue to sell.

Check out another power-seller that's as bad, if not worse... jewelrybyezra

This group of nefarious lowlifes has well over 6000 NEGATIVE FEEDBACKS and eBay does NOTHING !!!

WHAT'S THE PROBLEM EBAY ?????
