I received an email with apartments advertised on it. One of the apartments seemed appealing to me and I called the listed telephone number with the advertisement. I learned that the person I spoke was not a rental manager but an online broker for apartment hunters. He told me of two particular apartments that I liked as they included a stove and had low rent with utilities included. The person I spoke to gave his name as Steven at ext 245. He said that If I didn't have the information online concerning the two apartments he told me about on the phone that his firm would return my membership fee of $60. After signing up with credit card information over the phone I searched for the apartments but only found one of them and that one indicated it did not have a stove but a microwave only. I called back and spoke to Steven again to tell him that and he said he emailed me the information about the two apartments he verbally described over the phone. I told him I received the membership receipt email but not a second email. He then put me on hold and after nearly 5 minutes a woman named Christina picked up the line. I explained why I was on hold and she told me that Steven was on another line. I told her I was on the line with him with a question as to where the information concerning the apartments he told me about could be found. She took my number and promised that Steven would return my call. About 30 minutes later after not receiving a call back I called again and spoke to another man whom I think was named Carl. He told me that Steven was not in at the moment. I told him what had transpired and that I wished to receive a membership fee refund. He transferred me to an automated message (which was made by Steven as I recognized his voice) indicating a request must be made by email either through the EZrentlist.com website or through an email address that was stated in the message. I did both an individual email as well as send them email via their website. I have not received either a phone call or an email since then. Not only do I think that EZrentlist.com gives false apartment information to influence people to join my experience tells me that this is an overall scam operation as well !
