It's very rare that I leave a negative review, however my studio's experience working with Joel Mayne of Eclectic Communications has been exceedingly poor.

Eclectic Communications appears to be a brand new 'advertising agency' owned and operated by Joel Mayne.  I recommend exercising caution when working with this individual and this company, based on our own experiences.

Joel Mayne attempted to defraud our commercial photography studio into photographing several purses for a purse designer named Mala Mukherji.  The intent was to obtain the photos, resell them to Mala Mukherji for her company, Mala Designs and then file a chargeback claiming that he never received the photos, or that they were shot improperly.

I received a very rough draft of photography guidelines from Joel Mayne for use on the Mala Designs shoot here: bit.ly/2j65v3e.

When Joel booked the shoot, he did not provide a final draft of his creative direction, so we used the only briefing that we'd received and shot them to his specifications (along with a few additional shots that he had requested via email) here: goo.gl/pECmJg

Joel began complaining that the images were not shot properly, because there was information that he forgot to provide in his creative direction.  As evidenced in bit.ly/2j65v3e, our studio generously offered a free priority reshoot for any images that were shot contrary to his written directions.

There were none (of course) and we offered to book a day shoot for Joel Mayne, Eclectic Communications and Mala Designs to be present and provide creative direction at our studio.  Joel could not afford our day rate, so he opted to pick up the purses instead.

He then attempted to intimidate and threaten my 5'4" wife/partner in person, threatened us and then filed a chargeback with his card issuing bank, claiming that we never delivered any photos.

Eclectic Communications is currently being sued for fraud and breach of contract, so please consider this before working with this agency or any of his other mercurial agency names: bit.ly/2yf5blN

Dear Joel Mayne

Dear Joel Mayne of Eclectic Communications - A vanishing act?  The last time I checked, I am extremely reachable via phone, email, heck you even came to pick up the products at our studio.  What you're trying to do is to change the narrative in order to make yourself the victim.  Believe me, nobody is buying it.

Did you miss that I uploaded our entire email chain where I offered you a free reshoot if your products were shot contrary to creative direction?  It's right here: https://1drv.ms/b/s!AqHDcQ66f_EvmPd5RyJZLK7u2HfZAg as is your response that you opted to go elsewhere.  I guess I didn't 'vanish' after all, huh?  Would you like you perhaps edit your comment about me not offering a reshoot?

You booked us with the intention of ripping us off and getting free work.  You're upset that your plan backfired.  Look at your website: http://www.eclecticcom.com/ there is no past work, no client list and 50% of the time it resolves to a drug dealing company (see screenshot here: https://1drv.ms/i/s!AqHDcQ66f_EvmPgJpLDgmcMupiyH2A).  It's so obvious that you're new to this business and you figured that if you complained about your vendors' services, that you'd get the work done for free and then resell the photo to Mala Designs (which our usage license does NOT allow - photo rights are non transferrable).

I've posted a link to the rough draft your creative direction for Mala Designs here: https://1drv.ms/p/s!AqHDcQ66f_EvmPd19dqtGMNjN_dDWg (you strangely included no creative direction in your actual contract) and the photo gallery here: goo.gl/2azMei.  If you're dissatisfied with the shots for Mala Creative, please keep in mind that these are what the purses actually look like.  The camera didn't pick up something that wasn't already there.

Even your failed attempt at a chargeback contains lies - you told American Express that we didn't deliver ANY photos.  As soon as that's resolved in our favor (or even if it isn't) after the 1st of the year, You'll be served with court papers for breach of contract.

In closing, you attempted to con us with a rookie scam and you failed.  Every time you poke your head out of the ground, I'm going to be there to let the world know that Joel Mayne is a con artist.  Every review you leave for me is going to turn into a highly SEO optimized review for Joel Mayne of Eclectic Communications.

So please do pursue legal actions - it's been a couple of months; what's taking you so long?

We contacted Deacon about a shoot, essentially sent him a brief, tried to set up a time tp speak and clarify any questions, he vanished.  I am trying to pursue legal options as the photos were from a product shoot but the shots are not of the products.  He stopped communication and delivered photos that were sub-par, not according to the creative direction.  No offer for any re-shoot, that is rather deceitful.  He isnot an honest man, and he gets very angry very quickly.

Pursuing legal options.  Your not allowed to take oney then vanish, then demand payment.
