Eco Canteen is a classic TV-to-Internet scam that rips off its customers at checkout. The product is advertised on TV as costing $9.99, plus a free tote.
But when the unsuspecting online buyer goes to the checkout screen, the website asks you to upgrade your order by purchasing several related items. Even after pressing the No button on the up-sell items, the customer is shocked to see the order confirmation page includes all of the declined upgrade items on their invoice-receipt.
EcoCanteen has a customer phone number that is unanswered. The email confirmation that is sent comes from No-Reply@ecocanteen.com, another classic online scam indicator. There is no way to reach this company.
No listings exist for any such company in North Carolina, or for its supposed parent company, Crown Point Capital in Herndon, VA. The North Carolina Attorney General's office will be notified of the fraud.
AVOID DO NOT BUY Eco-Canteen.

It is discouraging to see such a negative comment from a customer, but we are here to resolve the issue.
As noted on the website, and TV commercial, we advertise the product as $9.99 each plus p/h.
The bottom of www.EcoCanteen.com has 'Offer Detail' information that outlines the product costs, as well as the processing and handling costs associated with the Adult Bottles, Kids Bottles and Insulated Totes. So the customer should be fully aware of the total cost of their order when they click the 'Click Here' button to place their order.
Mark mentions that on all the related products offered after the initial sale, he clicked NO, yet they were automatically added to his product total anyway. I do not want to dispute this happened, but it was obviously a website error, and in no way reflects the way this site is meant to work.
This is in fact the first time we have heard of such an issue... we place multiple test orders a week to ensure the related products are only added to a customer's order when they click YES, and we have not had a problem yet.
We have had customers call or email us noting they accidentally pressed YES, when they meant to press NO, and we automatically edited the customer's order accordingly.

We urge every customer who has an issue to take advantage of this website. Here we have a LiveChat feature where customers can chat over an online interface with a customer service representative, read about our Frequently Asked Questions, send us their questions, concerns & information in an email submission form, or call our toll free customer service number.
