If you're ever looking to hire a general contractor I would highly recommend finding someone other than Doug Edelfelt and Eco Handyman. I have never dealt with a more unprofessional company in my life. I had Doug come out to give me a quote on a small deck project and he over estimated the number of hours.

After asking for a 50% deposit I questioned the quote and he responded by saying he would come out to quote again. After not showing up on 3 separate occasions (without even the courtesy) of telling me he wasn't going to show) he proceeds to tell me that he doesn't have time for the project any longer and that he is too busy.

This company should not be too busy because nobody should hire him unless you like to have your time wasted and/or a project that never gets finished.

Sincerely

Steven

SCAM ARTIST - Doug Edelfelt

AUTHOR: Steven - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, November 12, 2014

In my last update I indicated that I was trying to help Doug out since he was begging for me to remove this report since it was affecting his buisiness. Since I didn't want to be a hardass I thought I would help him out and update my original report which I did. But once again Doug has shown his true colors since his entire post is an absolute fabrication. I did complete my deck, but never received a stop work order.

Doug Edelfelt is a SCAM ARTIST. He tried to overcharge me for building a deck and when I complained, he made 5 other appointments but never called or showed for any of them. When I finally tracked him down he told me he was too busy to come out. The real reason he didn't want to come is that 3 other contractors quoted me $3000 but he quoted over $9000. He knew that he grossly overcharged me and was caught.

In addition, Doug states that he works for Eco Handyman but when I called Eco Handyman Elaine told me he no longer works there. If you check his LinkedIn profile he has another company called Red Elephant Ent., LL listed as his employer. Doug told me that Eco Handyman hires Doug as a subcontractor but that he also has his own company. Based on my dealings with both Eco Handyman and Doug I would be very skeptical about hiring either of them, unless you want to overpay or don't value your time.

There are many more reputable and cheaper contractors to choose from. Buyer Beware.

Sincerely,

Steven

Steven Reger - False Report

AUTHOR: djecohandyman - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, November 12, 2014

Steven is mad because he wanted me to build a deck and stairs without plans, specifications or a permit. That would create a exposure and liability situation that would have been unacceptable. Here at Eco Handyman, we pride ourselves with doing Quality Work, On time for a Fair Price. We always consider the customers needs and concerns. Steven was simply not happy with the price/terms for doing permitted work correctly. He was also upset because of missed appointments. I called each time and missing appointments is NOT the norm here at Eco Handyman. I since have spoken with him. He stated he had completed the work on his own and received a stop-work order from City of Boulder. Said he was in contact with a structural engineer to make a report for the necessary corrections. Steven said he would retract this report and that he would contact me and Eco Handyman to bid makeing the corrections as required by the engineer. I think he overreacted and I want to help do whatever it takes to put this bad feedback behind me  AND the Company. BTW Eco Handyman is a GREAT Company to work for and I intend to be with them for the foreseeable future doing Quality Work, On Time for a Fair Price.

Doug Edelfelt - Eco Handyman

I'm writing to update my origianl report. After several months without a resolution, Doug Edelfelt contacted me and apologized. He explained that it was just a misunderstanding that he is preparred to rectify. Based on our conversation, Doug told me that he would be willing to help me secure the necessary permits I need and work with me to resolve any issues the building department might have since I'm trying to secure permits after the deck has already been completed.

Since his apology felt genuine I told him that I would take him at his word and update this report. All I wanted was to have my deck built. Hopefully with Doug's help, I will be able to fix any issues that should arise once the deck is inspected by the building dept.

Regards

Steven
