I made reservations over the phone and gave them a credit card to hold 2 joining rooms, as I was traveling with 5 children to see my husband in St. Clairsville, OH where he was working.  Upon arriving at the hotel at 4 am after a 10 hour drive, I go in to check in, leaving my teenager in charge in the car.  When I walk in the lobby is gross.  Carpet is torn, stains on the rugs, mold under the vending machines...  I tell the guy at the front desk that I would like to see the rooms before I pay.  He says, "well, we already charged your card, so rather you stay or not, your paying!"  I tell him that if the rooms look anything like the lobby I want my money returned to me.  I go up and look at the rooms, and tell the guy that there is no way I am bringing my children into this hotel.  The elevator smelled like pee.  There were huge black stains on the ripped up carpet.  We get on the floor and there are bleach stains all over the carpet, qtips on the floor in the hallway.  He opens the room and it smells horrible.  I can't even describe the smell.  I walk out of the room, and the guy starts screaming at me in the hallway about how there is nothing wrong with this hotel, and he thinks I'm being unreasonable.  I ask him if he is really going to scream at me in the hallway at 4am while he obviously has other guests sleeping, and I continue to walk back towards the lobby.  In the lobby he tells me that the owner will be in tomorrow but he can guarantee that I won't see a dime back.  $204 is what they took.  I then go to the Hampton where I am charged $30 more than I would pay for my whole stay and the stank hotel.  

 I call back in the morning to the econolodge and ask to speak with the owner.  The guy who answers the phone says, "What do you need him for?"  I tell him I need to speak with him about getting a refund on two rooms I didn't stay in.  He says, "I know who you are, and your card was charged, your not getting a refund, that is just how it is going to be!"  I ask for his name, he hangs up.  I call back, he answers the phone, and before he even says "Hello", He tells me, "Your not getting your money back and hangs up. My husband goes to the hotel and they guy gets rude with him.  I call corporate and file a complaint with the hotel.  They tell me to try to get in touch with the owner, and he has 72 hours to respond.  I can't get in touch with him, no one will let me talk to him.  

 I call corporate back 2 days after the incident and they tell me they can give me half my money back.  I say, "NO, I want all my money back, that hotel is gross, the people are rude, I didn't stay there."  Finally corporate says they will refund back all my money, but I have to wait 4-6 weeks for my money to come in the mail in the form of a check.  WHATEVER... at least I'm getting it back, I better anyway.  

Do not go to this hotel, it isn't worth the hassle, it is disgusting and they will steal your money.
