I recently purchased a ECS K7S5A motherbaord from a computer show that is in our city once a month. This board gave me all kinds of problems. I took the computer to a local computer repair shop to have it checked out. They ended up finding it to be a bad board. And not only was the one I bought bad but the whole case of them that they had was bad also. I contacted ECS about this and their response was. TOO BAD we are not going to do anything for you at all. As a matter of fact it took trying to contact them by email 3 times calling them once and sending them all of the documentation in the mail, it finally took a very harshly written email before I ever got a response. Therefore if you have money to throw away buy an ECS product but if not, then stay FAR away from them.

Bad PS/2 mouse port.. I purchased an ECS K7S5A PRO motherboard on May 3rd 2003 and it has performed flawlessly since I purchased it all I did to it was download the BIOS update from ECS' website and the motherboard has worked just fine until two days ago and the mouse port stopped working all together and now I just have to get in contact with ECS, supposedly they have a one year warranty on it. I will try that route and see if I can get it fixed. Have a lovely day!!!

I am responding to the recent purchase of K7S5A Motherboard. I too, recently purchased a K7S5A M. B., and have not experienced any of the problems that have been reported by this unlucky consumer.
I am not advocating the sale of this M. B., but must say that I am nonetheless satisfied with its performance. I agree that there was an adjustment period following the installation of the K7S5A Motherboard, as the new components of the M.B. adjusted to the existing components such as the Hard Drive, Video Card, et al.
I have learned that over the years you can please some of the people some of the time, or some of the people most of the time, but you cannot please most of the people some of the time, or most of the people most of the time.
Truly; The Lucky One.

ECS K7S5A is wonderful!

Hi,
I personally have installed 6 ECS K7S5A boards in different configurations. Every single board works fine. No problems at all.
That board, like other boards from other companies, needs care and attention . All the cards ( PCI , AGP, Memory stick ) have to be pushed completely in the slots. The board must not be in contact with other metallic parts, ( the case for example ) in any manner etc. Do that person, who bought that mobo, is a newbie or an experienced installer?
Maybe the person bought it in a show, and the dealer was not an authorized dealer. I understand why the company ( ECS ) can't do nothing for him.
Next time, I advise everyone to buy from an authorized dealer.
