On 8/25/04, I was contacted via my cell phone by Everest Consumer Services promising me a $2400 unsecured visa for a one time fee of 299.00.
WHen we got to the 'Recording' part of the conversation and when I interupted and mentioned an 'UNSECURED 2400.00 Visa' they stopped the recording. The gentleman explained that since the fee was rather high they had to call it a credit-repair program. I should have known then somehting was up, but wanting to rebuild credit I continued.
The money was debited from my account on 9/7. I called the 866 # for their customer service center on 9/8, and asked if the unsecured visa was mailed. The guy I spoke with at that # said it was a program not an unsecured visa. I told him I was ball-faced lied to and wanted a refund. He said he would issue the request and the refund would take 30 days.
On 9/30 I called back and another rep told me that the refund had been approved by Everest and it would take 30 days. Which of course I complained about.
On 11/15 I called back because they stated I would get a refund no later than 11/11/04. I advised the customer service company I had not got a refund. They stated they would open an investigation with Everest as to why the refund was late. I called 11/19/04 and they had not heard anything from everest. They re-opened another ticket. I asked for this customer service companys address, they would not give it. I asked if they had a # for Everest or a contact at Everest. They said they didn't. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was denied. I believe this customer service company is also Everest regardless of what they say. I asked a city and state location of the customer service company and they are out of Quebec Canada. Everest was origianlly located in Atlanta GA but the latest address I got was Philadelphia. I have contacted the Federal Trade Commission, FBI and US Postal Inspectors.
Everest has no intention of refunding anything both companies are just stalling hoping I will go away!
