This guy came into my workplace telling us he could help riase our credit scores. Mine had taken a hit many years ago and I had been doing a lot to raise it, a few points at a time, so if he could help I thought AWESOME. He promised me we could get it to 720 in 33 days or less. He charged me $2500 but said his usual fee is 5 grand. He wouldn't tell me HOW he was doing it, but he was the ex husband of my friend's friend (yes, that's too far removed but I thought it was enough to trust him).

I started getting weird letters in the mail from random companies and realized he was just going into my credit reports and claiming the accounts were not opened by me. BUT they were. So now I'm upset because this is illegal - and I was not the one doing it. I told him this and he just said to throw them out and forget about it, that they were some kind of automatic thing these companies sent. After 33 days and no score change, I asked him what was up.

And again at 45 days, and 50 days, and now it has been 90 days. EVery time I contacted him before, he would get mad at me for saying nothing had changed. He said he had done a "ton of work" on my "file" and that I needed to be grateful.

I asked him for a 50% refund, not even a FULL refund, which I thought was fair. He did not do what he promised. He did "do work" whatever that entailed (I still don't exactly know even though I have an idea). He refused and got mean, told me not to text him anymore and called me names.

I just now Googled him. I wish I didn't. I'm not getting any of my money back, and I'm going to have to call and turn him in. He was logging into a credit monitoring site as me, with my social security number, and now I have to file a police report and figure out how they can track this guy down. A real piece of work. I DO have his current cell phone number if any of you who were ripped off by him need it. What a FRAUD.
