Elavon and Ladco Misleading representation on the fee Fernandina Beach, Fl 32034 Florida

As a new start up company, I needed a credit card processing company to accept payments in the form of credit, debit, etc..  The bank suggested using Elavon for my services and Ladco was also involved, being represented by Elavon.  Coming from my bank - I thought this would be a legitimate and trustworthy choice of companies to work with.

When speaking with Elavon, they explained the cost of our credit cards processing fees would be 1.9% for Visa and MasterCard.  The deal also included me signing a four year contract with Ladco for the processing equipment - which I found out later is free from other Credit Card Companies.  My cost was $40 per month for Ladco.  Elavon's first bill was well over 3% for the credit card fees and when I confronted them with the difference in cost, the representative said it was because our customers were using 'reward' cards - which in turn impacted my costs.  This was never explained in detail to me during the presentation which would obviously have made me rethink my decision to do business with Elavon or Ladco.  I tried to negotiate the fees and they kept saying the costs would be lowered but it never happened.  I told Elavon I was looking for another company and gave them fair warning that I would terminate their services if they could not lower my costs.

I am no longer using Elavon and also terminated Ladco's services - however, Ladco is still trying to bill me for services I'm not using.  My bank is so embarassed and determined not to lose me as a customer that they have reimbursed me for costs associated with Elavon.  Ladco continues to bill me for services and a machine that I'm not using.  It's a $100 machine @ $40 per month for another 36 months. This is ridiculous.

Bottom line - Elavon grossly misrepresented my costs for credit card services.  Both companies are unprofessional and flim flam their customers with lack of information, refusal to work with the customer and not following through on their word.
