I took my VCR in to this company to be repaired as it was not recording correctly and the picture kept going fuzzy.

I got the VCR back and was told that it was fixed and was charged $53.00 for the parts, service and labor.

When I tried my VCR at home I found out that it was not fixed and now I couldn't even get any picture at all when I tried to record.

I took it back under their warranty. They kept it for a week and then told me there was nothing wrong with it.

I took it home and now not only does it not record but it no longer plays tapes correctly either.

I demanded my money back but was refused.

The Better Business Bureau website states that this company has an unsatisfactory business performance record and has had many other similar complaints.

General VCR Repairs

AUTHOR: Thomas C. - ()

I own a TV/VCR Repair shop for over seven years and never had a complaint filed with any agency. Here in Chicago as well as other cities a consumer can contact their Consumer Affairs Dept. and file a complaint.

By going to the Consumer Affairs they will check out your complaint and get back to you in a reasonable lenghth of time, usually, two or three weeks.

Another possibility is check with the licensing division that licenses business in your town or city, they can help you out as a general rule.

You should never leave any shop without testing out the unit before you leave the shop. Also, if you paid by credit card you can call your credit card issuer and possibly have the charges reversed.

If a compnay gets to many "charge back"s they will drop the business altogether. They don't want the hassle. Regarding the complaint it sounds as if the heads may have been dirty which is usually $15.00 to $25.00 charge depending on your location. I hope this helps.
