Elegance Perfume Over priced perfumes with an unfair exchange policy White Plains, New York

This store sells all over priced, old cologne/perfume. When shopping at this store the sales lady, Deanna, introduced this cologne I have never even heard of before, "Unpredictable", and told me it was on sale for $50 dollars, as she turned the box so that I would see this little orange sticker on the box that read $95. The whole point of this is to make the buyer feel as though they are getting a really good deal.

As I considered this product I explained to her that this was a gift for my nephew so I am unsure if he will enjoy this cologne. She ensured me that if he did not like it that he could exchange it for any other product in the store. With this being said, I bought it. When I showed the cologne to my brother, he told me that my nephew would not like it so I decided I could exchange it for a perfume that I know my mom wears and everything would work out ok. Not the case.

I decided to call the store before going in to do the exchange to see that the store carries the perfume my mother wears and to inquire about the price. I called and the young girl told me they carry the perfume and it is only $60. Now before calling I looked up this perfume online and saw that the retail value for this particular perfume (Armani Idole) is only $53- so I already know they are trying to scam me, but I would rather pay the couple extra bucks to do the exchange than be out of the $50.

When I go in the store I again ask for the Armani, and the girl says yes its right here its only $60. I say- Great! I have to exchange this unopened cologne I bought my for my nephew and I'll pay the extra ten dollars. The girl became very rude and snotty and said, "Oh no- You have to pay the (as she turned the box over and showed me once again the little orange sticker reading $85)." I told her I called and she said it was 60, I come into the store and you say its 60, but when I try doing an exchange the price increases to 85???

The products retail is only 53- in the world can this even be legal or legit? Anyone who walked in that store on that day- including myself would have only paid $60 for that perfume, but because I was doing the exchange I had to pay more??  No matter how much I argued she would not let me do the exchange. She told me she was the manager when I tried to ask for one and would not give me the number to speak to anyone higher then herself.

Needless to say- I got stuck with a cologne which I paid $50, and when I tried selling it online it is only selling for $20. I was not even allowed to do a fair exchange when on the receipt it simply states exchanges only. The store is a scam, all the products are over priced, not even selling for the retail value of the product. They should have a "all sales are final" policy if they are not going to let you do a fair exchange.
