My family and I recently moved from the Detroit area to Florida. initially we were going to rent a u Haul. hind sight being 20/20 we should have. we went online to find a moving company. Several companies eagerly bid on the job. The highest bid was Eli Transport. The sales rep Mike? Was that his real name? Well any way he told me his bid was binding and would not change no matter what. So I then did a credit card deposit for $210 over the phone. The total for the move was to be $2100. After the $210 was put down the next step was to pay the drivers half in cash or certified postal money order in Michigan. I had a postal money order for $1,000 upon arrival.
To just cut to the chase I get a call about 1 week later DEMANDING another $4600 from Chicago Moving Systems if I ever wanted to see my belongings again. Is this legal?
