Elite Moving & Storage, Inc. Elite Movers damaged property and will not respond to claim Sun Valley California

In June of 2013 we contracted with Elite Moving $ Storage, Inc. (AKA Elite Movers) to move our personal belongings and a 1975 VW Beetle from Redondo Beach CA to our home in Texas. When the items were delivered 6 days later we found that the moving company had stuffed box of our personal items inside the VW and tearing the headliner. We immediately contacted the company and they said that they would take care of the damage. They send an email claim form which we filled out and returned along with pictures of the VW both before and after the move. After a week I called the company to see what was happening. They informed me that it could take 60-90 days to investigate. I waited 60 days and called to see what was happening with my claim.

They said someone would get back to me. They never did. I kept calling and getting the same "Someone will get back to you" story. After 150 days I filed a small claims law suit here in Texas. It took the L.A. County Sheriff's Department 6 months and 9 tries to finally serve Elite with the suit. They had 14 days to file an answer to the suit with the Court. They never did so I got a default judgment. The Court sent Elite a copy of the judgment and so did I along with a demand letter. I still did not hear from Elite so I called and spoke to the owner Yuval Bitton. He compalined about the default judgment and said he was not going to do anything. I am in the process of trying to collect my Texas judgment in CA.
