The emachines redemption website is the joke of all jokes.  this is no settlement!

the website is limited to 4-8 products MAX at any given time.  t hese are all broken or due for repair products returned to their wherehouse.

The prices are cleverly designed so you lose a significant amount of your $365 voucher or pay a significant amount, with 8-900 dollar laptops offered.   What?   what laptop costs $889?

Many have complained about receiving broken, unworking computers.

SO the company got away with settleing a lawsuit by giving out vouchers, that are more like coupons of high priced items.

A $350 lap top will be priced at $887.  you get 365 off.  then pay 522 for a 350 used, broken lap top.  Wonderful!

or you can get a FREE broken monitor fof $99  and lose the other $266 off you voucher.   NO, you can't buy 3 $99 monitors to use your voucer.  They will cancel your order and you will lose the certificate.  Quanaties limited to one item.

Wow, the most amazing scam settlement I've seen.    The turn a lawsuit into a way to make money off of selling used, unwanted computers, or giving you there broken junk for free instead of throwing it in the trash.

just amazing they could get away with this.

Another lawsuit is in order.

Emachines Settlement Scam

AUTHOR: Emachines lawsuit rebuttal - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, October 22, 2015

As a person who had two claims against Emachines lawsuit, I can attest that I did NOT find this to be a scam at all.  I received two vouches (for two computers that I had purchased from Emachines) and I picked the following items from the website: a) one ACER 23 inch wide-screen monitor (which I am still using) which was originally priced by the website at approximately the same price as the voucher and an ASUS tablet, similarly priced by the website at approximately the same as the value of the voucer.  Both of these items cost me ZIP, ZERO, NADA, NICHEVO, NOTHING.  I didn't even pay for shipping.

In fact when I got the Acer monitor, due to shipping mishandling (on the part of the company or UPS?? don't know which ) part of the monitor screen was damaged.  I sent it back and got a replacement from the company about a month later because at the time, they didn't have the same item in stock.

I have had problems with the ASUS tablet's battery which probably just needs to be replaced, but since I don't use it that often, it's no big deal to me.

I did note when going onto the website that many of the lesser costing items disappeared almost as fast as I logged on and the more expensive items languished.  It was a case of you had to be quick to get the real deals.

As far as the complaint about "laptops being $800" - if today (10/22/15) you go onto the Newegg or TigerDirect websites, you will see that no only are there laptops costing considerably more than $800 (I saw Microsoft Laptops at $1300) but tablets as well at very high prices.

My guess is that the person complaining wanted a very expensive item for nothing. ::shrugs::
