I orginally accepted the credit car because it sounded like a good way to re-establish credit after a divorce. I set up automatic payment schedules, out of my checking account, in order to make sure the payments were received on time. Things went well for approximately 6 months, even received an increase in my credit limit. Then for no reason I or my bank can determine the payment schedule was canceled and my information was dropped from the system and then the calls started. As many as 5 calls in one day.
At first I talked to the representative, but one supervisor cussed me out and then hung up on me. I have kept track of all the calls with time and date. I have told Embrace I would pay the bill as soon as they take off the phony fees they have placed on my account. They would have been paid by now if they had not stopped the auto pay I established. Since I am drawing Social Security and Retired Militay Pay I believe they hink they can scare me into paying something that was placed on my account due to no fault of my own.

Most credit card companies and banks (as can be easily checked on this site) have forgotten their
original purpose, to provide a service, and have taken as their focus ever
raising their profit margin. They do not get it. If you make everyone poor by tying
up funding and loans, and heap too many fees onto people, then they will not be
able to pay what is due. Then when they raise the interest rates so they are basically
obscene (once called USURY), well that combined with late payment fees, almost crush
any person trying to do the right thing. The banks have changed the bankruptcy
laws by lobby so they have intentionally tied up all the ways that the poor
folk can escape their clutches. Statistically it has been shown that poor folk
want to pay so they can find credit or take out loans, the only way to handle
life emergencies and with this practice there is no way out. The Benjamin
Franklin adage penny wise and pound-foolish comes to mind. The insanity of short-term
profit over long-term financial stability doesnt work. But do
not expect any help from the greedy banks! I would also file a report with this
