I had a credit line with a credit card company that bought this account. Up until this time I was late on one payment in a 2 1/2 year time frame. Now that Emerge bought the account, I cannot get receipts from them for the payments I make. Their attitude about it when I called was they do not have to provide one. Informed them according to state law here, If I request as receipt they have to provide it or the debt is paid in full.
I received a phone call from a Charles Watkins who wanted to see what my concersn was, advised him all I want is my receipts and I haven't an issue regarding the debt. To this date I havent received a receipt. I have however received a letter from Harold E Scherr Law Firm demanding payment on the debt in full and stated in the converation that I am refusing to make payment on it voluntarily when I made no such statement to him. This law firm seems to be handling the account in their behalf. Mr Gary Ridge is the person I spoke with who is very rude and will not let you get a word in edge wise IF it is not what he wants to hear from you as I take it happened to me during this conversation.
