Empire Today LLC hoaxes gullible customers with the product order form:
Unwitting customers must sign Empire Today's multi-copy (yellow, green & blue) "Document #
F-1162" Order Form. The fine print on the back side -- at the very bottom -- discloses that "Arbitration of Disputes" must be settled only by a legal arbitrator from the National Arbitration Forum. What isn't apparent is a costly process, for the customer, so unless the claim is for several
thousand dollars it just isn't worth any possible reward. Customers wave their rights in Small Claims Courts and all other proceedures. Consider that no honest, reputable company with an interest in keeping customers happy would use this shady tactic. Empire's record with the local BBB is listed as A+, but according to the BBB the Colorado complaints about Empire are all now forwarded to the Chicago office for some unstated reason! Complain to the BBB anyway
Yes, we were taken badly by this company regarding the quaility of a new nylon carpet. They alsomeasured and ordered enough extra material so that we have many yards left over. Upon close examination The carpet itself is vastly overpriced, comparing only with competitor's carpets of half the price.
BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY, and also report your problems to all consumer magazines such as Consumer Reports.

Footnote: actual rates charged for the arbitration of such claims by the NAF range from $367 for claims up to $1500, to $460 for claims from $1501 up to about $3500. It might be worth doing: After only four days our new Empire carpet has delveloped a discolored section about 5 feet by 2-12 feet in the dining room. There's no excuse for such poor quality except the insatiable financial greed of This carpet company.
