We ordered our carpet on July 21st, 2009 with said salesman. We set a date for July 29th, 2009 for installation based on the insistence of the salesman that that was the only date they could do the install and guarantee me the low price that I was given (2100 for wall to wall carpet). Salesman continually stated that he was making nothing on the sale and that he was doing me a great service for the price. The paperwork was filled out and July 29th was booked as the day for install.

We were to receive a phone call the night before to let us know what time they installers were to be at our home. No phone call ever came and I called at 830 tuesday the 28th to find out when our carpet was to be installed. Miguel, the service rep who answered the phone stated that the order number we had was for an install done in 2001--when i told Miguel that the order was for tomorrow he stated that there was no order placed for my address.

The following day I followed up with EmpireToday again...and spoke to a clueless installation rep who suggested I call back in two weeks to square the situation away. I told her to put me on the phone with someone who had a clue and spoke to a very helpful Ms. Romeo who stated that no paperwork existed for our order and that she would have the situation rectified by business days end. Business day end and came and Rob from Empire called and stated that the order was never submitted by salesperson Francis Nadal and that he could knock 100 bucks of the order for our inconvenience. We told him thanks but no thanks and to cancel the order. Rob stated he would.

The following morning we get a call from a carpet installer stating that he would be at our house shortly to install our carpet...When I told him to get lost and that the order was cancelled last night he hung up . I called EmpireToday's customer service office and informed them that if their installer showed up he would not be let in our home...As of 8 am the installer did not show up.

I will never use EmpireToday considering how clueless this business really seems to be...how do you place an order and then never have the salesman submit the order? and then supposedly cancel the order and then send over the installer the following day? Stay far away from this clueless group of people.

I also filed a report with the Fed Trade Commission for a possible ID theft by this salesman who had all my personal information on the paperwork.
