I recently received a Sony Blu-Ray player for my birthday.. What a delight right? Wrong!! Inside the packaging was a coupon for free trial membership for emusic online music download service. Once I had signed up, I could redeem my voucher and get a month free of downloaded music. If unhappy with the service, I simply call them up and they (emusic ) would cancel my membership.

Guess what... I enrolled, never had the time to download any music and contacted the customer service to cancel. To my surprise, I got an email verifying that the subscription was cancelled. Now comes the time for my credit card statement.. the charge is still on there!! When I called customer service, they told me its because they charge for the month and in the fine print it states that they do not issue any credits once a charge is made.

However, I did get an email for a month free of downloads!!! What is that about? Why would I need a voucher for free downloads when I cancelled it anyways? In essence I got a voucher that I paid for but cannot use!! Kind of like that Allanis Morrisett song,"isn't it ironic, don't cha think..."

It gets better... I get another charge for the second month!! I called customer service and they said that I didn't cancel it within the trial membership period and therefore got charged again!! That is total B.S. Now I am charged for 2 months of a service that I never used, never even visited the site, have never heard of before if it wasn't for that Sony Blue-Ray player I got for my birthday....

I called and complained to Sony Corporation telling my story and to please remove all flyers for emusic in any and all of their products. They will simply have their reputation ruined from a B.S. service such as emusic.

So please, do not use emusic!!! Tell everyone you know to not even think of using this horrible service and scam artists.. unless you are curious like I was, then you will definately get ripped off.. and you will get your hard earned money taken away. I would rather see my monthly charge amount burnt in front of my eyes, then to use this service again, which in turn is what actually has happened....

I wish I had never signed up... then again most important life lessons are learned the hard way....
