I have rented from Enterprise for years and have NEVER had an experiece like this. I believe this problem is unique to the Byram, MS location.

After waiting way too long to pick up the car, they gave it to me with a filthy interior. It was so hastily washed they didn't even rinse off the soap. A very quick walk-around was done when I picked it up. Yet when I dropped it off they went over the car very meticulously and wanted to charge me for a very fine flaw that was only visible from a shallow angle in strong sunlight. Honestly, it took me a few minutes of looking before I could see what they were talking about. I strongly believe the "dent" was there before I picked it up. But now I'm stuck with the bill for the deductible.

A WORD OF CAUTION! In my opinion you'll be better off going to the Airport. Honesty is not something you should expect at this location

Trust

AUTHOR: buckngator - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, March 03, 2015

When a consumer chooses a business there is a certain amount of trust that is necessary. In this case I trusted that the inspection when I picked the car up would involve the same level of scrutiny as the drop-off inspection.  Judging by the huge black scuff that was on the inside of the passenger door and rest of the filthy interior of the vehicle when I picked it up, I concluded that only very obvious damage was important. That is usually the case at car rental companies. Last time I rented from this franchise they were not so meticulous. (and the car was dirty then, too). I was dissatisfied then but, after a year or two, decided to trust them and give them another chance.

I thought I would save a little time. But it took them so long to get a car ready I could have saved time by going 20 miles to the airport.

I rent a lot of cars and I have certainly never seen any other car rental agents go to such lengths to find flaws when inspecting a car on turn-in. As you can see by the attached photo a reasonable person would not have seen the flaw unless it was pointed out to them. The Enterprise franchise in Byram, MS has lost my trust and I feel that it is important for others to know about these shady practices as they try to decide if they should trust this company. In the end It is possible that they will get my money. But they certainly have lost any future business From me.

And Your Responsibility???

You knew you would be on the hook for damage yet this is what you said and I quote:  "A very quick walk around was done when I picked it up."  Who did the "very quick walk around"?  Since YOU were the one who signed the contract and as such YOU were the one who was on the hook for damage, why did YOU allow this to be a "very quick walk around"?  The purpose of the walk around is a pre-delivery inspection and since YOU are the one who is on the hook and will pay the bill for damage, it is ENTIRELY UP TO YOU to take as much time as is needed and to have them note on the contract the type and location of pre-existing damage.  As it stands now, this "very quick walk around" shows no pre-existing damage, right?  You bring it back and you claim the damage was already there when you picked up the car...yet you cannot prove that because YOU did not have them note on the contract any damage.  Quite frankly, you have no case.

Oh yes, don't waste the effort, I'll tell you right now, I don't work for them.
