So basically We have had the vehicle for 8 months. Purchased a Premium 72 Month 60,000 mile extended Warrantee. Vehicle recently experienced ticking which we though was the exhaust. Informed from the exhaust shop that it was the engine or transmission and to go to the dealer. Brought vehicle to dealer, they said it needed an oil change (Oil is in my driveway so it was leaking somehow), which was done. Said ticking was better. ticking came back and we called to make an appointment however they could not get us in and due to work and weekend we did not schedule. Car died and was towed to the shop. Informed that they would talk to the company and let us know if it was approved. informed on 11/28/2015 that it was denied, dealer claims lack of maintenance records. Called and spoke with rep on Monday and she said it was denied due to lack of lubrication and said it may have been due to the oil change. I asked why they would not cover it as they said we did the proper maintenance however we shoudl know if the oil is low??? I explained no light came on, we heard a tick and had it checked. We did our due dillegancy. she said if we could prove we went to the muffle place to have it checked it would be helpful. (which we did) sent documentation. After a few days we were informed again that it was declined and that was it. I called dealer repair manager and he contacted someone at EFG who agreed to approve the claim but only pay for half of it. I just received the inspection report and on one page it says Cause of Failure Symptoms sen are consistant with a lack of lubrication at some time. Then on another page it says Any lack of lube damages? and the response is NO.

Ultimetly the failure was number 3 rod bearing has spun, and crankshaft is scored at this location. they noted discoloration of all the bearings and signs of a dry start, or low oil condition on the bearings. they note the oil change done on 11/12, and notes this may be related to the current failure, either a dry start or not enough oil being added to the engine.

Basically they know what happenned but dont know when. I purchases a warrantee as I had no idea what we bought. if this damage was there and it was from the recent oil change. either way a warrantee should protect me. I did my oil changes and maintained the vehicle yet I am supose to know all the ins and outs.

I am at the end of my rope. It seems no one can talk to me, all they say is have the service manager call someone but yet no one can give me written information or talk to me. This is a scam.
