Please Help!!

In June of 2002 I became unemployed as many of us have. I decided to get into a home based business marketing a travel package. I felt I needed a good website that was e-commerce capable and went to a seminar in Charlotte NC.

There My fiance and I were convinced by a very sauvy salesman to buy into an e-commerce website. This was the begining of our nightmare. They tried to sell us multiple sites for us to resell however we were only interested in a site for ourselves. They assured us this was a great solution EPenzio for a cost of $2,195.00. Bring It Home $99.00. We were given better pricing to pay all upfront and so we did.

I tried to work on our site using the software provided and found it impossible. We were promised 10 hours of website building from the organization which we never recieved. We decided this was not for us and requested to be released from this contract and were told that would not be possible. I did not know what to do. I figured this was a full loss and that we would have to eat it.

Then we got a call from Bring It Home and they offered to assist us with building our site for us. We needed to join their Mentor Program and was asked how much money we had available on our credit cards to put toward this opportunity to possibly recover our loss and make it a win win situation. This mentor program would last a year with 30 minute sessions per week with our mentor. This mentor was supposed to assist us with building our site and to get it up and running to get our existing business off the ground. Once we started producing revenue on our existing business then to sell websites for them.

We did not tell them what we had for available funds. They tried to negotiate us for much more than we settled on $1,325.00.

Chad the person that sold us on this program taped our conversation as to our agreeing with this program at which time we restated that we were joining this program with the main focus on building our website first until our existing business was producing an income and that we would then look at selling sites locally.

Our mentor called and much to our dismay was not at all assisting us with our website but instead was giving us sales training 101 class which was very insulting as I am a professional salesperson by trade.

At this point I had no confidence in even selling the sites as they had not come through on delivering to us a working website.

How could one sell something that we did not get?

Our total losses are now at $3,903.85 and is still growing as we are being charged to this date and now by a new organization I havent even heard of.

Something has to be done to save us from this Fraudulent Business Practice.

If anyone can help we need you!!!

Hi Tammi!

Chad certainly was a smooth talker on the phone--wasn't he?! I posted elsewheres on this site (I think that I'm #16 dated 3/4/03) about ePenzio and their affiliated companies. Chad had also called my husband and I--wanting us to get involved with selling websites as well as Datek (not exactly sure what that was about as it has been awhile ago). At that time our credit cards were maxed out and so we were able to get rid of this smooth pushy talker.

To cancel Bridgeview Bank, look at the back of your 'contracts'. On one of them should have their number. When you call, they will give you a fax # as to where to send your cancellation letter. Also, go to Pacific WebWorks and e-mail them with your intent to cancel. These people should call you within a day or two confirming your cancellation request. To cancel penzPay you can e-mail them.

The MOST important thing to do is to file your complaint with the Utah Consumer Protection Agency. The link is www.commerce.utah.gov and the contact is Mr. Ao Pauga. His phone: 801-530-6601 and his fax: 801-530-6001

Keep up the good fight! ~Janet~
