I ordered a trial size of Ephamere Skin Cream on December 29, 2017. The ad was a pop up on Facebook.

Everywhere on the webpage it read "pay only $4.95 for shipping and handling". I was told the payee on my credit card would be Pure Beauty. When I got my bill I was charged $97.58. I disputed the charge with Citi Mastercard then after a few weeks was told the charge was valid and I needed to pay it.

I just called Pure Beauty. A call center picks up, not the company. They said I needed to call them before 14 days to cancel the charge (that I didn't know about). They sent me to this website to show me the policy ephamereskincream.com/ but this is not the web site I ordered from. This website is clear that it is a 14 day trial. The site I ordered from did not say that. I never looked into the company because I thought the most I had to lose was $4.95. Now I see that was a mistake. After 5 minutes of googling you will see that they use the same exact Shark Tank ad for multiple products.  When you order you aren't told the tiny bottle of cream will cost $100. When I called customer (a call center in India) they just kept telling me to call my bank, which of course I did. The bank said that the company hides the fact that it is a subscription service that must be canceled within 14 days but since it is disclosed in fine print that nobody sees, they can't reverse the charge.

They said they get calls about this company all the time and they suggested filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission because they want this company out of business too. I filed that claim but want to warn others as well.
