When I contacted Equifax to unfreeze my credit account on 1/26/2010, I was asked by the customer service representative if I would like to purchase an Equifax FICO report for a one time charge of $12.95.  I agreed to pay this price to purchase this product and was given a login ID to view my FICO report.  However, when I received a second charge for $12.95 on 2/26/2010, I contacted Equifax on 2/28/10, they told me that I had signed up for their credit monitoring service, which has a $12.95 monthly charge.  I stated that I had not signed up for any ongoing service with Equifax.  However, Equifax repled that their records showed that I had signed up for this service.  Equifax refuxed to refund me the $12.95 charge on 2/26/10, although they did agree to cancel my service.  I would like to lodge a complaint against Equifax for:

(1) Not telling me I was signing up for an ongoing service with monthly charges.

(2) Refusing to refund charges for which I had never agreed to pay.

This is just blatantly fraudulent activity on Equifax's part since they misrepresented what they were selling me.  I was told I was buying a FICO report on a one time basis.  But instead, Equifax signed me up for another monthly service without my knowledge or consent and then has the audacity to lie to me and tell me I purchased this service.  If that were true, why would I be so eager to cancel the service once I found out that I was "enrolled" in it?  From what I have read on other postings on this website, this is not an isolated incident on Equifax's part.  Even though I received assurances that the service has been canceled and will not be charged again for which I received a confirmation number, Equifax may very well try to charge my credit card again.  If they do this, I will update my complaint on this website and take further action to again contact the appropriate federal and state agencies and the Better Business Bureau I have already made aware of my complaint.
