I recived a leter in mail stating that I had won 65,000 dollars from the Euro Lotto. Letter looks impressive with bar code and states that I was entered in by Nothern American sweepstakes as part of our International Promotion Program.
Included with the letter was a check for 4500.00 dollars for they say for Tax and clearance fee. I researched online to see if there were any scams dealing with Euro Lotto scams and there is a long list on Web-under Euro Scam. Sending this notice to help stop these theives from ripping consumers off online and by mail fraud.
The letter list Equity Financial Company, Subsidiary of British Lotto Corporation in Halifax, Nova Scotia and the stamp was wierd stating from anywhere to anyone with a Canada stamp and no return address on envelope. Also no email address and warns to keep absolutely confidential- I didn't enter a lottery in a foreign country considering I live in USA. Go figure?
