I've worked for several years as a project manager for one of the largest wireless companies in North America. Ericsson , to us, was the supplier of any new equipment (RNCs,enode b) that was being deployed and also was hired to install, integrate and optimize this new equipment for our company.

Everything always starts out cordial, with promises of a smooth deployment, equipment reliability promises, availability of equipment and resources with the talent required to get the job done .

time and time again, I witnessed the sheer lack of professionalism from Ericsson and heard the horror stories from their contractors that they used, including their internal deployment  team, their  engineering staff and their project managers, both blue badged and contractors.

The bottom line is that they failed on almost every level to meet our expectations. Once they have your purchase order they calculate their margin and work to provide you with the least amount of resources to complete the project. we spoke to several ericsson project managers off line  and they complained about working 60 plus hours a week and only getting paid for 40 because any additional time reporting would eat into their budget. The ramifications of not meeting budget is no bonus and possible termination. They admitted to not paying vendors for repeat visits due to budget constraints. One of the key drivers for repeat visits was due to faulty equipment, untrained installation crews, and software related problems created from under trained and over work Engineering staff.

their internal delivery organization even named Daryl Avant as a project manager that failed to pay them over 100k in services that was provided to support a deployment project.Instead of complaining ,the LDO took the loss to their budget for fear of losing future work assignments.

It is this internal greed and lack of respect for their own team and approved vendors that leads to a most unpleasant and often chaotic vendor relationship.

So to all these vendors that are getting continually ripped off by Ericsson,to all those engineers working all day and into the night and to all those Ericsson project managers who work too many hours trying to find a way to not pay some vendor, internal engineer and themselves, we see it and are working to rid Ericsson from our approved list.
