ERS of Texas Texas Retirement System Blind Sided Employees, Pension, Medical, Perscriptions Austin Texas

Had twenty seven years service, Retired and now have to depend on Services I was promised. My complaints are with the medical services provided by the insurance provided by the compaies who Employment Retire System of Texas hired to give our perscriptions. The Company is Silver Script.  I have been a heart Patient since 1982. I have to depend on certain medicens . Now that we have Silver Script I have a few problems. 1. Medicines I have had for fifteen years or more I have to have the Doctor call the insurance company.

These medicines were prescribed already and I have never had to have preauthorization once the doctor perscribed the medication. My Kidney Doctor prescribed a laxative and the Insurance refused to pay for it. The insurance company before Silver Script (Caremark) had no problem allowing me to have the medication. Now there are weeks of delays. I know that the state should save money, but they should check on the way that company does its business. Hopefully this company will only have a two year contract and then they are gotten rid of. It just shows what the Texas Eployee Retirement System thinks of its Employees. ( Like the Billions of dollars they are short in the pension).
