Best as I can figure this has to be the latest incarnation of Greenzap. All I can say for sure is that I'd never heard of Esafe Card or Esafe Inc. before they cashed an echeck for $19.85.

What is it going to take to get rid of these people? I closed my Greenzap account before Greenzap ever charged me, then last summer mysterious charges in the same amount were processed by Mazumah (on the grounds that having bought my info from Greenzap in and of itself authorized said charges).

This round really takes the cake though. This time, they managed to cash the echeck (one so far, but I know the pattern says more to come) against one of my family's accounts to which I'm only a beneficiary - NOT an authorized signatory. This wasn't even an account number I've EVER given them, just the only remaining account at that particular bank branch (we closed the other account with last summer's scam).

So tomorrow, I get to go sign affidavits that *I* didn't commit said fraud and then we have to move said account and do a whole lot of other paperwork. Meanwhile, they'll likely get away with this since - per our bank - this group of scammers seems quite aware of the caps for both individual transaction amounts and the amounts per individual.
