ESBI charged $14.95 to my phone bill for several months before I caught the charge. I have paperless billing and often am too busy to look at the bill, I just pay it. Don't ever do that!
I have no idea how ESBI got my husband's information. They claim he filled out an online survey and signed up for this online shopping service. My husband did no such thing, and if ESBI only knew how bizarre it is to claim that my husband signed up for this, it would almost be funny. My husband hates shopping, especially online.
The only thing we can figure is that 4 months ago, someone we know and were trying to help was arrested and placed calls to our home phone (which is unlisted) from the jail. The jail phone charges were from a 3rd party billing service. Immediately these charges began showing up on our phone bill.
No matter how they got there, what this company is doing is illegal and ethically wrong and now I have to pay an additional $2 every month to the phone company to keep 3rd party billers from accessing my phone account.
