I sold several domain names and website files to a buyer through escrow.com. The buyer paid escrow.com and the funds cleared according to the manager at escrow.com. I provided the web files and domain names to the buyer along with google adsense stats and website stats. The buyer accepted the merchandise. Her web hoster had problems with the zip file and I discovered the my transfer stopped midstride so all files did not transfer. I rectified the problem immediately and uploaded the full zip file at which time the buyers hosting company helped the buyer get the site up and fully operational. My agreement was to provide the buyer with 30 days of support once I was paid. The buyer claimed that I provided false information and told the manager at escrow.com that I lied. The buyer also claimed that she never received an email from escrow.com stating the 30 day inspection period had begun. I know the buyer received the email because I received it and the buyers email address was accurate. Thirty three days passed and I assumed the funds would wire to my bank account. Escrow.com's agreement states that once the 30 days has passed, plus an additional 48 hours that they release the funds to the seller. However, escrow.com did not make good on their promise. Instead, they gave the buyer the opportunity to file arbitration on the 33rd day, which breached their agreement with me, the seller. The buyer filed arbitration today and I have to pay an arbitration fee as well. The buyer, at this point, is trying to get something for very little or nothing. This transaction should not be going through arbitration as time lapsed. I held my end of the deal, expected to be paid, and now am in a nightmare of having to be forced into arbitration when I waited the 30+ days. The buyer had every gold opportunity to respond within those 30 days and she didn't. If anyone has any suggestions, please contact me.
