Eso*World - Caterina La Cruz Unfair Billing Practices / Suspect Motives Buffalo New York

I am writing this statement as a buyer beware warning for anyone considering to purchase the psychic services of Caterina La Cruz, who operates under the business entity called Eso*World.

In a nutshell, the following was my experience

As I was encouraged to do in the unsolicited mailing I received, I requested a psychic reading from Caterina La Cruz on a credit basis by responding to her advertisement in early August 2007. The reading I received was inaccurate, but nonetheless, being fair-minded, I purchased a Western Union money order for the exact amount stated on the invoice, i.e. $19.80.

The invoice was dated 8/7/2007. I mailed the money order and payment slip in a Business Rely Envelope, provided by, and pre-addressed to Eso*World on 8/14/2007. I also included in the envelope a short, polite statement that I did not wish to receive any further services.

To make a long story short, I received 3 additional invoices dated 8/28, 9/12, and 9/28/2007 for the amounts (in turn) of $27.30, $34.80, and $39.80, all with strong threatening language about the payment being past due since 8/18/2007, negative credit reporting, utilizing their collection agency, and prosecuting your account to the to the fullest extent of the law.

To give another direct quote from the 9/28 invoice: If you fail to pay, your non-payment will definitely affect your credit history and further fees of at least $61.35 will be assessed!

All of this within 2 months for services rendered and paid for!!

Heres the kicker

Eso*World is unreachable you cannot contact them if they dont want to be contacted. All they provide is a P.O. Box (Eso*World, PO Box 237, Buffalo, NY 14205). There is no publicly listed phone number, or number provided by the company itself.

This is all very suspect behavior from a company which positions itself as trying to help people spiritually.

Just today, I received an advertisement from the exact same PO Box address from someone claiming to be a psychic acquainted with Caterina La Cruz, stating that Caterina told her to get in touch with me for a reading. The cost is quoted at $39.90.

This was my experience. I also have noticed that there has been a sharp increase in the number of negative reports to the Better Business Bureau recently in the short existence of this company. I will leave you to draw your own conclusions.
