 I paid extra for shipping to have my order delivered in 1-2 days instead of the standard shipping, which would have been free on orders over $75 and could take up to a week. The Essential Hardware site does not state that processing the order itself will take up to 48 hours. Nor does it state their regular hours of operation do not include weekends. They only state the different companies they use to ship your orders, the prices for the options in delivery times and they also mention having a lot of warehouses all over the country to reduce cost and delivery. On the third day I checked on my order and it still stated that the order was sent to the warehouse. I sent email and "created a ticket" for someone to let me know what was going on and asking for a refund for my payment of the shipping amount I didn't hear from anyone. On the fourth day I checked my order again. It still stated that it was sent to the warehouse. I then checked the status of my "ticket" and it stated that it had been closed. As if my inquiry was already handled. I had no idea what that meant. Did they cancel my order? Did they speak to someone who will be calling me or responding to my email? Did they just dismiss my inquiry? Well, I recieved my order a couple of hours after I saw that the inquiry was closed. I was very upset, to say the least. I paid $34.11 for 1-2 days delivery. I got it on the fourth day. I.could have ordered it elsewhere, but i chose Essential Hardware BECAUSE they had options for me to get it in 1-2 days. I called customer service and they were of no help. They do that text book training/ fake sympathy response , "I understand your frustatrion". I asked for a a supervisor and was told Mary would call me back in about six minutes (which she did). I listened to her do her condescending "sorry not sorry" speach/explanation. Then I spoke. She then asked if she could speak without me interrupting and that wasn't a rhetorical question. I stayed quiet to allow her to go on and she asked again. She was actually waiting for my "yes" for her to continue on with her repeating what she had already said. She told me that the site "clearly states " that the order takes up to 48 hours to process, that I ordered on Fri, that they don't work Sat and Sun, the order would have been processed Mon and Tues and I would have gotten it Wed or Thurs. However, since I emailed them complaing on the third day (Mon) they sent it overnight delivery (arriving Tues). So, by that practice and the 1-2 days of shipping, that I paid extra for, the delivery of my order is right on time. Are you confused yet? Imagine how I feel... I told her that it makes ZERO sense. Why would I voluntarily pay $34.11 to get something in the same amount of time I could have with their standard free shipping??? After a few minutes of getting nowhere, and realizing i wasn't getting my refund, I told her that the website does NOT state that their processing takes up to 48 hours and that they should clarify what they consider to be "business days" the way other sites do with adding "excluding Sat. and Sun." Not EVERY company runs your standard Mon-Fri 9-5.
