Essential Publishing Group Solicitation to run an ad in a recommended service directed to be distributed to 4 country clubs other Florida

I was contacted by Terry Coleman from Essential Marketing Group in FL to run an ad for my business. The pricing was $400 for a 1/4 page ad, $699 for a 1/2 page, and $999 for a full page ad. I was told that the publishing company just picked up a  3 year contract with Navesink Country Club, Rumson Country Club, Colts Neck Golf Club, and Bella Vista. They told me the magazine would be distributed quarterly. I told Terry I needed a day to do some research. I called all 4 country clubs and reached the head of the administrative offices at one of them. She told me she never heard of the company. I share the website and the woman I spoke with reinforced that this looked suspicious. The website was:issuu.com/essentialpublishinggroup.

I called Terry  from Essential Publishing back and told her I wanted the names of the contact at all 4 country clubs to verify that there was a contract. I was connected to project manager Bob Miller, who told me that he would have to look into it and that the country clubs wanted their privacy protected so that people like me would not call and harass them with phone calls like mine. 

Luckily, I did not fall for this and lost no money but I read another Rip-Off report that was very similar to my story under the name of a different publisher, also in FL. BUYER BEWARE.
