After doing buiness with big nationwide corporate insurance companies for a long time I decided to give a local company a try. What a hugh mistake that was. I did read reviews first. But still went ahead thinking I would save money. Again big mistake.
First off: they give you a quote and then without ever telling you. They change it on you and withdraw it from your bank account. YES its true. I had to close my bank account down so these thieves wouldn't get my money.
Second: they tell you that you can look up your account online (like most insurance companys do), except their website never works.
Third: they renew your contract without getting your permission or signature. And when you cancel and go with some other company they send you a bill and threaten to report you to the credit bureaus.
Fourth: they NEVER EVER pick up the phone to talk to you about your account. You have to go to the office and wait for them to give you time to speak to them.
PLEASE for your own sanity stay away from these crooks. I would have preferred to pay a couple of hundred dollars more to never do business with these people. Now I am with Formost Insurance and I am happy with them.

Unfair to generalize a Company with over 35 years of Excellent Customer Service

It sure is unfair to generalize these companies with over 35 years of service in a community by a dissatisfied customer.
1. Everyone is given a quote based on information obtained by an agent either over the phone, online or in person, that information is fed to a computer program that uses different rating algorithms which produce various quotes for various insurance companies. These rates can change if the information provided by the customer was not completely correct or substantiated. (example: customer mentions not having driving citations/tickets/infractions and then an MVR (driving record) is ordered from the DMV and the customer in fact does have a speeding ticket or such) these records are not ordered beforehand because they cost about $10 per search so it is done ONLY when the client comes in to the office or binds the policy.
2. We can't say that we have never had website issues but we do have a VERY solid system that has been recognized by many as adequate or above.
3. In many instances in the State of Florida you MAY have a policy renew automatically IF you made the choice of going with an EFT option. (this means electronic funds transfer) this option is chosen by the insured and is usually more economical and convenient, however IF you DO NOT want to continue with your policy you have to cancel/stop the EFT.
4.We sell/insure thousands of people every year both on the web, phone and in our offices, we pride ourselves in providing service and have a quality control team constantly reviewing procedures, training and monitoring sales techniques.
We have over 60 agencies in the South Florida area to include West Palm Beach, Broward/Fort Lauderdale, Miami-Dade and the Florida Keys. All of our staff is licensed and insured, trained and competent.
Finally, we are and Independent Insurance Agency representing MANY insurance companies, including Foremost Insurance Company - the company the complaint originator currently has insurance with. We also have a great record with the Department of Insurance in the State of Florida and pride ourselves in that.
