I have filed numerous complaints agains Etitle Loan- Whetstone Partners. I took a 1000.00 loan with this company in which I gave them my car title and was able to keep the car. I met a person with a laptap and he asked me if I had insurance on my vehicle in which I had full coverage. I told the guy, I didn't need any extra charges and was given a contract in which I would pay back 1690.00 on a 1000.00 loan. This company added a ridiculous amount of 500.00 which I could not get a staight answer on why. I called this company numerous times and would get different answers on why I owed more than my contract says. I filed a complaint with the BBB, Florida Attorney General, and Consumer Finance. This company lied to the BBB and said I didn't have insurance on the car in which I have the paperwork. I was able to give my explanation after theirs and surprisingly they do not answer the BBB back. I have looked into this company and they have done the same exact thing to me as they did with numerous people. They have numerous complaints with the BBB and even here on the Rip Off Report. I believe they take advantage of people who can't afford to take them to court and end up having to pay their ridiculous overcharged amount because they want their car back. They said they keep phone records which is good because I have called this company so many times and every time I talked with someone I would get a different answer. People beware - if this has happened to you do what other people have done. Contact the BBB. Call the Florida Attorney General - 1-850-414-3300, call Consumer Finance - 1-850-410-9895 and make your complaints. This company commits fraud and should not be taking advantage of people and overcharging them stating different reasons why they came up with such a ridiculous amount of money in which they were told.

You don't need an attorney for small claims court

AUTHOR: FloridaNative - ()

POSTED: Monday, November 17, 2014

If your report is accurate, you have all the evidence you need to take this company to small claims court. You don't need an attorney when you bring a case to small claims: just the evidence. If this company did charge you different fees than what is stated in your contract, it should be very easy for you to prove. All you need is the contract signed by both of you and proof of the amounts you paid and proof of the amounts they billed you that are different from the contract amount.
