Hello All,

First, I would like to say what a great resource this website has been. Especially after reading consumer's stories who had the same unpleasant situation as I.

Yesterday (02/06) I made a quick run to the local mall, the Livingston Mall in NJ to be exact, to purchase a few items and get a haircut. Anyway, as I was leaving the barbershop and passed the Dead Sea Beauty Products hut, a woman literally grabbed my hand, pulled me to her booth, began to roll up my sleeve and applied her products on my hand. She did this while elaborately throwing her sales pitch about how the facial peeler and moisturizer are made from organic products derived from none other than the Dead Sea. A very similar experience to that of the person who filed a report about his unfortunate situation at the Walt Whitman Mall; I feel your pain.

Since Valentine's Day is just around the corner, I figured I take a chance and buy the products for my girlfriend. It turns out that I got a bargain of a deal; not. Here is the break down, for the Etre Dead Sea Mineral Salt Peel and Organica moisturizer; I paid a cool $150.00. In addition, the hut was having a sale on some type of nail kit (Etre Dead Sea Nail Care Manicure Kit) for only $74.90. Now I must say that I am oblivious to beauty products of this type and thought my girlfriend would be ecstatic.

When I got home I did some Googleing on these products, the results disappointed me. It turns out that the Etre Dead Sea Mineral Salt Peel and the Organica moisturizer, each sell for $14.99 at other stores such as www.streambeauty.com and at Amazon, respectfully. If you recall, I paid $150.00 for both at the mall. The nail kit for which I paid $74.90, also sells for $14.99 elsewhere. By the way, the website that is on the box of the Organica moisturizer (www.organicalifestyle.com) is not even active. Luckily, I enlightened my ignorance before again looking like a fool; this time in front of my girl.

I am going back to the mall todaycopies of the product prices from the online stores in handand demanding a refund. Can't wait to see how that will turnout.

Hope my story keeps others from making the same mistake!

Hard-Sell Tactics should be banned

AUTHOR: Patti - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, November 07, 2011

There should be a law against the hard-sell tactics these stores use.  You end up buying something just to get away from them.  They grab you physically, hold you and are extremely rude about letting you get away.  I've had them follow me through the mall loudly asking "what are you doing about your rosacea?" By the way, I don't have rosacea...  They are embarassing, rude, and assaultive in cornering and badgering customers into buying their products.  I ended up buying their crappy, over-priced products at a mall in Tacoma, at the fair and finally decided I would not ever do it again, no matter what.  I just had another bad encounter at a mall in Austin, TX - where the sales girl followed me into another store, still trying to badger me into buying.  Only after a salesperson at the other store threatened to call mall security, did she retreat back to her booth.
