I started going to Evans Nails at Kroger Shopping Center approx. 5 months ago, along with my friend (AKA, BFF), in preparation for a wedding. We arrived about 2 hours before they were due to close. We both REQUESTED the following 1. Manicure with set of gel nails & gel polish (there is an additional $10.00 charge for gel polish) mani with gel nails and gel nail polish; 2. basic pedicure including matching nail polish on toenails; dye my eyelashes; and an entire facial threading (all inclusive price for eyebrows, cheeks, upper lip and chin (we were quoted 12.00 for threading when we first walked in). What we REQUESTED and what we RECEIVED in regards to services provided were vastly different for several reasons: 1. Because there were two of us with time consuming services desired, coupled with the relatively short time before the salon closed, we had 3-4 people working on us doing one service for BFF, while doing another service for me; the atmosphere was hectic with the employees rushing about; and there was a major communication problem due to their heavily accented, broken English Q & A's. Because of these factors, we let, what we felt were misleading pricing and service explanations, go unchallenged. For example, what I REQUESTED were my eyelashes be dyed, what i RECEIVED was gluing one false lash on at a time. when my BFF entered the room and questioned employee as to why she was gluing false lashes as opposed to my REQUESTED service of dying my eyelashes, the employee repeatedly answered, "this better, best way." My BFF also noticed the employee was dying my eyebrows a dark brown (My hair is very light blond), in addition, I never asked to dye my eyebrows, they were only to be threaded. My BFF started to get upset telling the employee she was mixing up what I had REQUESTED be done and also she dyed my eyebrows way too dark. Employee kept saying the eyebrows will lighten up & match my hair within a few hours to a day (which they never did). Further, I REQUESTED the full face threading and I RECEIVED an eybrow wax, employee quickly plucked a few upper lip and chin hair (missed most of the growth which I had to redo at home). I REQUESTED a basic pedicure, but I RECEIVED the upgraded pedicure (an additional $10-$15, plus employee used gel polish< which I didn't request, then charged me an additional $10 for the gel polish. In addition to the added charges for the pedi and mani, they also charged me $75 for the placement of eyelashes that were ridiculously long and my eyes would stick together whenever I blinked. They also only put lashes on top not on the bottom which looked very unfinished (it was a few minutes past their closing time). When I questioned them about my lashes they said it would be another $75 to do the bottoms and I'd have to come back the next day, remember I only wanted my eyelashes dyed. As I stated earlier, I had 3 different people working on me so when my bill ended up being $195 (I nearly fell over) stupid me felt obligated to tip 20% to each person who worked on me. I foolishly went back every two weeks to have my gel nails filled in and repolished along with a pedicure. All in all I went back 5 times. The lat time I went it was 30 mins. before closing and once again I had 3 people work on me. One gave me a pedicure, one filed off my gel nail polish and the 3rd person was to fill in the gel and re-polish my nails. After they filed off my polish and smoothed down my nail growth the woman put a clear coat on my nails, then began polishing. I realized she never filled in my nails with the gel. When I brought this to their attention, they denied it. Even when I asked them to pull the video to show them she never filled my nails in. They hemmed & hawed and delayed me watching the video and stopped me from leaving until another man showed up, who looked at my nails and pronounced them completely filled in and I was to pay for entire services ($75). At this point I had one hand half-polished, the other hand the girl poorly removed the polish with a regular nail polish remover, it was supposed to be gel polish which they charge $10 extra for, obviously they lied about it being gel polish as it takes filing gel polish off to remove it. I finally called the cops, but with 4 employees lying about everything the cop told me to pay, never come back and report them to the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. I AM STRONGLY, PASSIONATELY WARNING ANYONE WHO FREQUENTS THIS POOR EXCUSE FOR A BUSINESS TO STOP GOING THERE. WHEN I WENT TO ANOTHER PLACE TO HAVE MY NAILS DONE THE NEXT DAY THEY CONFIRMED MY NAILS WERE NEVER FILLED IN WITH GEL AND THE NAIL POLISH WAS NOT GEL. I could go on and on about the poor quality of workmanship and pitiful customer service, however this report would never end, & I am well aware it's too long already.

A few comments, please, in response to your comments. Of course, you are entitled to your opinion, however skewed it may be. You mentioned my TITLE "Crime of the Century" implying I truly feel this consumer injustice was a "crime of the century"and thus accusing me of entitlement. Perhaps you are unaware of the purpose of a title? So I shall enlighten you, it is to get the attention of fellow consumers within a specific services area, warning them of unprofessionalism through cheating & lying about services provided. You go on to state that I should grow up for believing I was a victim of a crime, which by definition I was. So allow me to say if growing up results in close mindedness & the inability to hold businesses to a higher standard, PLEASE, may I be forever young.

I have a few comments:
If you're receiving a service you didn't want, say "NO". If the staff doesn't have time to complete all your services, re-schedule the appointment. Lastly, if you think this is truly the "crime of the century" you have a sense of entitlement like I've never seen. Grow up.
