I went into Everest interested in the medical assisting program. I wanted to do weekend classes because I work during the week. This consisted of school Sat and Sun from 8:00-6:00, with a 30 min. lunch break and a ten min break every hr. The sales rep. Assured me of a great school that would benefit my future. She also showed me a site that said that MA in my city were making 15 dollars an hr. I went ahead and got my loans and grants and started school. From day one I knew this was a mistake. I started class on Saturday and was expected to take a test on Sunday that was going to obtain information from 3 chapters on the Mod that the rest of the class was in. Most people in my class were ready to graduate so they new exactly what was going on. Never once did the teacher explain any work that had to be completed. A student explained to me what was expected. The school was a joke. The students all cheated on tests, they fought, they stole from one another, came to school selling drugs and high. My first day I was brought upstairs to lab with the rest of the class and was expected to draw Intravenous blood and give shots. I would not let any of the students draw blood from my vein because I was scared they didnt know what they were doing. I was told that I had to that that was part of what I signed up for. On more then one ocasion I was left bruised from shot and IV draws being done improperly. Ontop of that, some students that were in my class couldn't even read. How did they pass the entrance exam? and they did not have there GED or High School Diplomas. One lady that came in was practically blind and the teacher wanted her to draw IV blood from a student. The older women couldn't even see if the bevel was up to properly take blood from the vein. She was to old to even comprehend. She was ripped off because there is no way she will pass the school and if she does she will never get a job. How did she pass the entrance exam? Now I owe all of this money to this school that didn't teach me anything. They provided me with books so that I can self study and I was ripped off.

I also attended Evereszt, formerly CID and FORMERLY the Toronto School of Biz-nass(yes, 3 name changes while I was there or still in the area!!!!!!)  The entrance exam is all prop, smoke--and-mirrors nonsense to give people the idea that they do have some standards in terms of who they let in to the school but, all that is seemingly required is for the person to write it and then it is filed off regardless of grade....and WHAMMO, you're in!  You do not need high-school or even grade school to get into one of these private/trade colleges or whatever they are.  And yet, these same places now have the audacity to start handing out pseudo-designations like "Masterz" degrees and what next "PHDz"??!  Like come on....who do they think they are kidding?  I could see the marketing team meeting now..."oh yes boys, we are going to make a killing, we can offer these studentz a Masters degree in 1 year while ittl take someone who goes to a REAL school 6, man, we got the edge now!"  PLEASE.  What employer will be fooled by that nonsense.  They dont even hire grads from these place(anywhere that pays above minimum wage that is and is full-time!!)  I too was promised jobs and was lied to to keep me in the school; even though I wanted to quit when I realized that the material was general high-school level at BEST!  I was told I could make 60,000 dollars a year managing mine workers or something like that(yes, the "director" said 60G's.....NO CID grad will ever come close to that with this crappy education); no interviews were given to me despite a positive emplyment record and other schools dont take the credits.......PLUS, just look at all the horrible comments and angry students that FLOOD the internet. DO THE MATH AND AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Those are some strong accusations your making about students selling drugs, doing drugs and using needles on eachother for class work.  I would report something like that for safety reasons.

As for making 15 dollars an hour, your nuts.  You don't start out as an MA making that, if you do your lucky.  Your lucky to start at 12 dollars and hour, most likely you'll be making 10.  With experience, you will earn more.  You should have done your research about what MA's make before you signed up for school.
