I purchased an email advertising campaign from the company Exact Data Consumerbase. I spoke with a sales representative by the name of Madeline Cassato to purchase the service. 

When I first called, she tells me, oh we have dealt with many people from your company. Many happy advertisers. She even lies and names "specific marketers" who's advertised there and said they are getting great results with their services. When I later found out, these people have never advertised with Exact Data Consumerbase.

They had me sign a contract for the service. My card was charged for two amounts, $250 and $1,000 for this service. The $250 was supposedly to convert my text ad into html format. Those idiots basically copied 2 images from my landing page and added one code of html. Which looked like complete crap. I could've done better in MS paint and added the line of code myself. The $1,000 was for the actual email ad to be sent to 25,000 active email subscribers.

But prior to them providing my service (2-25-2013) I tried calling to cancel, due to many poor reviews from other marketers I found and many ripoff reports and BBB complaints I read about this company.

When I called to cancel, I received no response. I left a voice message did not receive a call back. So I sent an email requesting a cancellation, which Madeline Cassato returned my email the next day (2-26-2013) saying my service was already delivered today.

I seen ZERO clicks to my landing page and NOT one opt-in. And I know what I am doing when sending an offer, because I make a full time living as a marketer and solo ads are my primary way of advertising.

So I told her I requested a refund before this ad was sent and tried cancelling but didn’t get a response. I was now infuriated she telling me my ad was sent and I received NO traffic when I spent $1,250.

So I told her I wanted a refund or I was going open a dispute with my bank. I never received my refund and never received a response back from her or anyone from the company since.

I have since come across several scam and ripoff reports from other people that’s had to file disputes and reports against Exact Data Consumerbase regarding the same exact issue.

This also includes over 50 complaints at the Better Business Bureau and many other complaints.

My advice, if you are a victim or were in the past, file a dispute with yout bank first, file a BBB complaint and Ripoffreport, and link back to all the other ripoffreports. Then hopefully we can have these low life scumbags shut out of business.
