Examcollection.com sells practice exam for it certification. It used to be free to download practice tests to get into headset of how vendors ask questions. Today they charge a fee to download the files and require that you have vce software to view such files. I purchased VCE software from Avanset.com on Jan of 2013 and it worked fine with files from the free examcollection.com site. Upon paying and downloading this last batch of files the vce software software stopped working.

Now mind you the software is a little over a year old. On the site it does not stipulate you need a certain version of VCE software so I purchased the examcollection.com files for a specific exam. When they did not open I  contacted the source of the files (Examcollection) and they instructed me to contact  the VCE vendor (their sister company Avanset). Immediately Advanset said I needed the latest version to open the files I had downloaded. Advanset no longer sells the software of which I paid 29.00 instead they have you pay for a service which allows you to view the files. This new service costs 69.00 for I month which is unreasonable.

I asked for a refund of the downloaded files I could not open and refused to pay Avanset 69.00 to view said files. It used to be examcollection.com gave the exams files away and pushed Avanset software to make you buy the software to view the files. Examcollection has refused to refund me my money and said I need to get proper software from Avanset. I feel riped off because no where on the examcollection does it say you need a certain version of the vce software making one feeel that any version of the vce software will work.

The other side of the coin is now Ihave a peoduct I cannot access unless I wish to spend more money.  Understand  when refering to VCE software I am actually refering to a file type (.vce). Aso understand that Advanset software (VCE READER or DESIGNER allows you to convert pdf's into a test format  of multiple choice questions etc. saved in a vce format. The version of designer that compiles the file requires the same to version view it. So if you recompile all the files with the new designer version you will have to purchase that new version to view it. Since they no longer sell the software just a service (short lived monthly fee) they generate 10 times the money.

Buyer beware do not buy services from examcollection.com unless you have access to Avanset services.

Examcollection.com is not forward with this info and the hidden cost of the service makes this cost prohibitive.
