Where to Begin, ExciteFX (Jason Clendenin, the CEO) This is a company that over bills for it's services, firstly. The CEO states that he has many employees working on his team, however he is a one man show. He farms out services, that is why your bill is to high. As for if you choose to leave him, he holds your domain and does not give it back. So for example, if you purchase a website package you never actually own your domain, he does. In the event you decide to leave he wants an un-named large sum of money, and he take you down. My advise is have a contract state that you will purchase your domain, by yourself, and that you will point this to his servers. Your domain name is what you rightfully own, however when a "slick" web designer like Jason is at the helm, he will make it difficult for you in the event you leave. We have countless stories of this individual screwing businesses online. He is even involved fraudulent marketing practices on the internet with pop/up marketing, email spam marketing. Make certain that you only do business with reputable companies. ExciteFX makes claims that they have done business with Microsoft & University of Pheonix, however they again lied. ExciteFX & Jason Clendenin are masters in deception, don't trust your hard earned corporate dollars to this company. We have used other companies in Orlando such as www.ajthomas.net, forbesandassociates.com, www.infographic.com, these comapnies, are honest & superb to deal with. When doing business online you really need to check the company you do business with! ExciteFX is certainly not that company!

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company
Erroneous Submission
AUTHOR: Jason - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, June 12, 2007
I don't know where to begin with this. These are broad allegations without a single fact or example to back them up. Before today I had no reason to ever defend our company, but I suppose there are always the rare circumstances. Since we have not been directly contacted by anyone with a complaint of this nature, I am unsure how the submitter came to such conclusions. Nowhere in the complaint did it say how exactly this person was wronged so it is hard to defend against multiple and broad accusations of wrongdoing without actual facts from the submitter. However, it is my opinion that this is a competitor or disgruntled former employee that is attempting to tarnish our name. For brevity, I will refute each point one by one.
1. "The CEO states that he has many employees working on his team, however he is a one man show. He farms out services, that is why your bill is to high."
Rebuttal: We have 6 employees, and an average of 5-10 freelance designers that are used from project to project depending on the size. If anyone wishes to visit our offices, I would be happy to show them around the building and make introductions. If we "farmed out" all our services offshore or otherwise, our prices would actually be lower, not higher than average.
2. "As for if you choose to leave him, he holds your domain and does not give it back. So for example, if you purchase a website package you never actually own your domain, he does. In the event you decide to leave he wants an un-named large sum of money, and he take you down."
Rebuttal: Since the first day of business this has never happened. There has never been a single instance where anything remotely close to this has occurred. Allegations such as this are easy to claim, and difficult to disprove. No client, past or present, has ever been held hostage like this ... and I welcome any facts that say otherwise. I would go so far as to offer a $500 bounty to anyone that can show this has ever happened. It is a ridiculous claim with no merit.
3. "He is even involved fraudulent marketing practices on the internet with pop/up marketing, email spam marketing."
Rebuttal: We have never been part of any spamming. I am fully open for anyone or any outside agency to inspect any workstation or audit our network logs and files for factual analysis. I am not sure where the submitter "Mike" came to this conclusion, but it is a false statement. It is easy enough to verify by the fact that it has never been listed as a service from by our company, never offered as a service to a client, and we have never accepted the offer of such work from a client. We don't like spammers either.
4. "... makes claims that they have done business with Microsoft & University of Pheonix"
Rebuttal: We commonly do subcontracting work for larger advertising agencies on a number of projects. This has allowed a smaller company such as ours to work with such corporations. The work performed was of high quality, and we received praise and lasting relationships because of it. Just as a computer manufacturer does not make every component part of the computer, so do ad agencies not make every piece of design for their clients. We are happy to be a subcontractor for a few of these large agencies, and are occasionally allowed to publicly showcase some of the work we have done for them.
5. The title of this report was ".. Technologies, ...& DOES NOT WISH TO COMMENT..."
Rebuttal: There are actually two things wrong here. The first is that "Technologies" is not and has not ever been the name of the company. Anyone that has ever done business with us is aware of this, and that alone makes me more suspicious of the submission motives. Secondly, the title of the submission says "... & DOES NOT WISH TO COMMENT". Why would the person submitting this report say such a thing, unless they simply wanted to make the title sound more negative? As soon as I saw this report I wanted to comment on the facts, so like all of the other claims made ... even the title is not true. This again makes me think that the submission was meant solely to be malicious, and not really an honest attempt at the facts.
Conclusion: We operate rather transparently, and welcome any dialogue or facts that state differently. As the owner of the company, I did my own research and found that we have not done business with a "Mike" in Orlando in the past 3 years. Regardless of the fake name the submitter used, we have never operated as stated, and would not do so. Anyone can choose any of our clients, and I would be happy to get them in touch with a representative of that company for a reference and independent verification. Additionally, I invite anyone to look at our day to day operations which are readily available to anyone that wishes further information.
If the submitter had stated what he believes we did wrong, or how exactly he was wronged, it would simple to prove or disprove the outrageous claims. Unfortunately, the submitter only posted some mean-spirited statements for what I believe to be malicious intentions. I am not sure if the submitter is a competitor with a grudge or perhaps a disgruntled former employee, but none of the claims made are even close to being true, and I welcome the chance to put the actual facts straight.
