I went to an interview thinking the job had to do with selling advertising to sports teams. I have a lot of radio advertising experience as far as commercial production and thought I would try sales. So I was interviewed by a younger man who had this amazing ability to speak. He was wearing this expensive suit and looked like he had it together. He told me that I would be selling Advertising to local sports teams at an entry level managerial position. He explained everything very fast and I thought right away this was to good to be true. Money was not discussed yet. So after driving 30 plus miles and paying tolls. I headed back home.

A day later I got a call from his secretary saying " we would like to see you for a second interview, a day of orientation and lunch is on us. wear a shirt and tie". Ok. I am desperate for work right now so I went back. That day I got into this little old beat up car with two even younger men with expensive suits and drove even further south from my home. One kid went to sleep while this fresh out of college kid began talking with me. Nice kid but he was mostly dishonest and non-descriptive about the job. After they bought me lunch his car had a blow out. we then spent much of the rest of the day getting out of the car problem.

We drove into a nice high class town and the other kid said "follow me. I will show you what you will be doing". he said. " remember you are not a sales man. you are training to be a manager". So we walked into one of the local business's and he pitched them on a vacation package for 50 bucks. of course the answer was "no". by this time the two young gentlemen decided it was a wasted day and thanked me for sticking with it after what had happened. so back to the office we went. on the way back they explained to me that the job starts out here with door to door sales and there would be rapid advancement to management. when we arrived at the office I was told to wait in the room I waited in for the first interview. A few minutes later I was brought in to meet another young man who told me "those guys said they really clicked with you and like you. would you like to work for me'". by this point I wanted to talk money. How much? He said. "I will pay you a straight salary till I'm sure you can make it on your own out there'". OK folks remember I really need an income right now. door to door sales (soliciting) is not for me. so being desperate I said yes. paid training and I get to dress like a banker. what the heck. The brainwashing than followed.

I walked in my first day at 8:00 am to loud rap music and 20 or so people dressed in business attire. I thought rap music at this hour. really any noise at this time is to much for me. A younger girl now approached me and said "who's team are you on"? I responded. she said "ok come with me. this is how you pitch" after that they had this sales prep rally with clapping and a speech by the first person who interviewed me. The training it self was brain washing. That is how every morning began . basically they train you to talk people in to spending money. Although the coupons they're selling are worth it. you still have to annoy someone who is actually working at their job to buy it.

I made it through the first week travelling to less than desriable areas of Florida and was paid the full amount. I did not sell a thing but I did open one sale and it was closed by yet another well dressed young man who was training me. the next week I worked 12 plus hour days and I was not paid. I was told by very first person who interviewed me that the other guy who hired you closed his business and what he told you wont be honored. so I quit. They kept the money that was to be mine for the few sales I did make my second week as well. I feel bad for some of the kids actually believing in this pyramid. I mean these kids were really falling for it. most of these people were nice. I hope things work out for them. When I realized what this job was my second day out there in the field as they call it. I knew I was only there for the paycheck. How long before Ill be looking for another job. I am not doubting that very few people can make it at this game. But at the expense of people's need for survival. not very nice. If door to door soliciting is for you and wasting a lot of your time. Look them on the web. One more thing they kept telling me. see the movie boiler room. as if door to door could even compare to an investment firm.

Play the fool no-more.

Superior Concepts and JIT Marketing Stay Away Please

AUTHOR: Alihoopa - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 17, 2009

Well my story is the same as most ex-employees of Superior Concepts A.K.A "SmartCircle". The first interview, the car ride, that wait for the phone call to see if your hired. You work around lets see 65-70 hours a week selling coupons business to business-fun-fun, for 300-400 dollars a week if your lucky, ya plug those numbers into your calculator and tell me what you get! Trust me it wont be pretty!! You can make better money waiting tables with obviously shorter shifts.
The make you show up way too d**n early and listen to their analogies of all the many types of people in the world. If you have worked at a location like this before you have heard the Rhino mindset versus the Cow mindset, which I think may have some issues with logic and reason............ Well who am I to judge I didn't use reason nor logic because I took this job in a heart beat and that makes me an outright idiot. Avoid these businesses they will ruin your social, financial networks for the future.
JIT the other Granton type business actually shares an office with Superior Concepts and they do the same thing except they sell Direct TV stuff.

Stay away from these guys they are deceitful. Tell all of your friends and family to stay away from all SmartCircle Solicitors and salespersons.

They told me that I would get paid $300 for one week of training I knew this kind of work wasn't for me but money is money. they had me start training on a wed. I worked till Friday. I worked the week before Thanksgiving they told me the following week they'll have a check for me for $150. I went down there on the 24th to get my check. Thats when they told me it should come sometime that week. I called back on the 27th of nov. and they said it would be in that Friday the 28th. that's when i gave them my address and told them to mail it to me. I then called them back on the 8th of dec. and a guy named Dan told me that he personally mailed it the first week of dec. I still had not gotten my check on the 18th of dec. On the 19th I went down to the office and the inside of the office was the same but a different name on the door, that when I got a sinking feeling in my stomach. The door was locked. I called a guy Sean that had trained me nice guy...and told him what was going on. he gave me the number to two so called Managers at the OKC location. I called Amber and asked her to call me back and update me on whats going on. she called and told me that the Vieno Group had gone under, and they split off into there own company. I finely got a call from Dan and he told me I was up Sh*t creek as far as being paid...I don't really know what to do now....all I think I can do is to warn and tell everyone I can about this.. Superior Concepts at the same location 101 Park Ave, Suite 350.OKC, OK Vieno Group it's all a SCAM don't trust them.

Wow! I had the same experience at The Vieno Group in Dallas, Texas (EXACTLY, the same!)

AUTHOR: Houston, Texas - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, June 21, 2008

You couldn't have worded it more perfect.

Ladies and Gentleman of Dallas, Texas. Go to www.TheVienoGroup.com and take one look at their one page website. You will see the business is a front and it is evident from their own testimonials that the parent company they work with is SmartCircle.

Their add on Careerbuilder.com and Monster.com were misleading and had salary ranging from 22000 to 35000 with 2000 bonus. I did not even hear anything about how much you get paid the first day in the field, on the interview, nor the second.

Do not be fooled. This company had 15 people in the office waiting to be hired the day i was there. I saw 30 people walk out of the back office to go out "in the field" within a 20 minute period.

Everyone was young. 28 and younger. The girls were all very pretty and as I am now sure by reading this same experience, probably nieve, and dumb.

I am a recent college graduate and am not fooled by this b.s. Do not waste any of your time.

I drove from Houston to Dallas to find out how ridiculous this was. Save your time, money, energy, and whatever else you have and run away as fast as you can.

These people go into businesses that have clear, "No Soliciting" signs and guess what, they Solicite. Amazing. Truly innovative. Truly energetic. Truly misleading and tom foolery. 2nd grade level lemonade stand hustling needed in order to apply.

#2 UPDATE Employee

The Real story, and the Agreement to some of it.

AUTHOR: Fresh Outta College - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, June 08, 2008

Ok I remember this interview very distinctly bc it was my car that got the flat tire. The man was clearly desperate for any type of income. Disheveled would be a good way to describe him. He had recently closed his radio/adverstising business and was looking for work because his girlfriend of 6 years was mentally unstable and the disability checks were not cutting it. My former associate did fall asleep in the back seat on the way to Sarasota, FL.

We gave him the opportunity because we felt bad for him. However, while in training, his anxiety is what made him quit. He would uncontrollabley shake when talking to strangers; not a good sign. I took him out for two days in training. Still was slow on his first day bonus and he quit after that.

To back him up though, I am quitting this company this week due to its incongruencies. We say we are a sports marketing firm however I have yet to promote one sports team. The firms are individually LLC'd for lawsuit avoidance purposes. And although many firms do well in the country, the Tampa area is tarnished from bad report with Disney Vacations and the IMAX certificate that was not honored. It is NOT possible to make 600 a week consistently with this firm.

Furthermore, the employees are required to pay for gas, interview lunch, and training. SO if you have a trainee and an interview, you make 50 bux instead of your quoted $100. You can't live on 1200 month in South Tampa.

There are better opportunities.
