I too was caught by the Expecam scam. First of all, I was jumbled around from person to person for over 20 minutes one night when I went to confirm my order. When I placed my order I was told that I was eligible for a Christmas Special where I would have received the sigma 28-70mm EX DG lens and the 70-300mm macro for a special price of $499. It semmed like a great deal for the 28-70 EX DG alone retails for around 500 dollars.

When I received my order I was shipped the DG lens, not the EX DG, which retails for only $180. In fact the two lenses I received combined retailed for only $380. I was overcharged by at least $120. When I called customer service to see why I was shipped the wrong lens, I was comfortable that being a reputtable company, that they would have seen the error, and we could have worked something out. I was mistaken. I was told that I was given a good deal and the company had only made $180 profit from my entire order which included a canon eos 30D body. It was insinuated that I was greedy in the fact that I liked the good price on the camera body (which was a good price, but I found other stores that would sell it to me for the same price), but did not like the prices of the lenses, and was questioned, "is it wrong for a company to make some money?" YES IT IS, when you are told you will be given a lens, it is completely wrong when you not only get a much more cheaper lens, but the company also charges you as if you were given the better lens. The company had made more than $180. They had charged over $120 over the lenses' MSRP! The salesperson laughed at me, argued with me in the fact that I was "complaining" and had advised me that I was getting a good deal.

After a great deal of arguing and a redefinition of MSRP, I was told that I would receive $150 refund to my credit card. I am weary of whether or not this will hold true, and time will tell when I get my statement. I am sorry that I am writing this report, but I was disgusted in the way that such a reputtable comany had treated me as a customer. I will never deal with this company again.
