We paid for a booth with Expo Media for the Vacation World Travel Show in Rosemont, IL. Expo Media also collected money for pre-registration fees from travel agents who would potentially attend the show.
The show was supposed to take place Oct 15-17, 2010. Drew Axelrod of Expo Media alerted me on October 2, via e-mail, that the show was going to be "postponed". They would not return my money and have not provided any further information on the "new" dates.
Leading up to Oct 2, it had become more and more clear that the show was in trouble. Booth rates for new exhibitors were dropping. No advertising or consumer promotions were happening. At some point, this company went from staging a legit show to perpetrating a fraud.
