Express Kitchens Ripped Off 84 year old Grandmother. Over 3 Months Kitchen still not done. VERY POOR QUALITY too. newington , Connecticut

Placed order and Paid most of $ up front on 5-30-12. Was told cabinets would be installed in about 3 weeks. Then in approx 3 weeks was told some cabinets were on back order and would not be in untill august 22 2012. Tis would be 3 months not 3 weeks!  At the end of june some cabinets were installled. The quality was So POOR it looked as if a 3rd grader made them in shop class..  There were Doors that needed to be replaced and the sides of all the cabinets were finished so bad they now have to be reskinned with shceap 1/8 plywood. This is NOT What we paid for.. a Cheap reskining of poor quality cabinets. 3 + weeks go by and no response fro this company.. at this point i have made several calls and they were not being returned. approx another 2 weeks somewhere in mid to late july the replacement doors and skins arrive along with some of the other parts that were so bad that needed replacing. most of these peices were just as bad as the originla if not worse.  still the 2 cabinets that are incorrect are not in. well it is now august 22 2012 and i have been again told that these two cabinets are still on back order and wont be in untill sometime in september.. This kitchen cant be finished untill these cabinets are replaced. The tile guy is on hold and no finish work can be done until these are replaced.. This kitchen is for my 84 year old grandmother who wanted a new kitchen her whole life and this has been the most stressful and worst experience in both hers and my life!

This has been  nothing but a nightmare and this company should be put out of business!

We are sorry that you had a bad experience at Express Kitchens.  I cannot find your file without more information, so I can only respond in generalities.  When a kitchen is ordered, it is ordered with the most current information we have at that particular time.  Sometimes, cabinets do go on backorder.  We always tell our customers when that happens prior to the removal of the existing kitchen.  That way, the delay is really just that, a delay in getting your new kitchen without being inconvenienced.  Remodeling is a process, and by nature, is fraught with issues.  It's how the issues are handled that separates us from other companies. From what you are telling us, you had some concerns about the cabinets, which we addressed and took care of as quickly as possible while keeping you informed of realistic time frames.  We take pride in each and every kitchen remodel project we do.  We deliver 20+ kitchens per week and install another 20+ every week.  We rarely have issues on-site, but when we do, we are right here to make things right.  Should we be able to help you in any way, please don't hesitate to contact us.
