I ordered a Canon 70-300mm from this site on July 22, 2007 (Advertised for $400) which was much lower than any other outfit.

I received an email with my order confirmation. Then i got an email saying that i need to call their 800 number to confirm the order.

When i called in, they told me that I had not put my credit card's 3 digit Security Code in when placing an order. When I mentioned that I remember perfectly that I put the 3 digit code in, the operator got very rude and said that they had a computer error that couldn't let them see it. When i pressed for better explanation, he hung up on me !!!!! So i called again and he had no reason for hanging up on me. So I gave him the 3 digit number again. He didn't say anything else on when it will be shipped or anything. I called back again to ask when the item will be shipped, he said "tomorrow". A while longer I received an strage email from info@expresscameras.com which only had the 3 digit security code in it!!!!!! I have filed the email all header information.

A few days later, i received an email saying that they have "oversold" this item and my order is being cancelled. Below I have copied part of their email:

" Unfortunately we are currently oversold on the item you have ordered,
and it is currently on a backorder for 6-8 weeks. Therefore, your order
has been canceled. Please note, your credit card has not been charged.

Your cancellation number is:

The email address that you provided to us has been added to our "Notify
List" and we will notify you as soon as the product becomes available...."

I have checked everyday now and the item is still being advertised for the same price and claims to be (IN STOCK) on their web advertising.

the photonet dealer ratings list.....

Why don't you go to the photonet dealer ratings list and select a firm that has garnered only positive comments? Also try some shopping bots, but be careful of any shopping bots that do not police their reseller ratings for ballot box stuffing...
