EXTREME TOWING SERVICES INC. This company is involved in predatory towing of cars from private, gated communities. They have someone on a lookout, and if any car is parked on a place, which THEY consider improper, without notifying the Owner of the property (as required by law), or presence of Peace Officer, EXTREME TOWING SERVICES just tow your car to their yard (in our case, to Palm Desert location). Then, when you are trying to retrieve the car, they are insulting you, demanding payment IN CASH only ,contrary to the law, which requires Towing Companies to accept checks and Credit Cards, until 5:00 PM, or Predatory towing of car, without authorization of property owners or presence of Peace Officer, demanding CASH only! On 10/13/2017, at 2:20 PM, my son stopped his VW Jett car in our private, gated community street, to pick up mail and go to the bathroom, across, near the swimming pool. He was absent 11 minutes in total. When he got out of the bathroom, his car was gone. First, my son parked his car way more than 15 ft required from fire hydrant; street had no visible "No Parking" sign. Second, when we were trying to retrieve our car from EXTREME TOWING SERVICES, I called them to ask, why did they towed the car, how much it will cost to retrieve it, etc. In turn, I was insulted by some woman, handling the phone and was told as follows: "It is $245 IN CASH only, and if you are not here until 5:00 PM, it will be double tomorrow". We drove to two banks, retrieved the cash from ATM and went to pick up the car to their location at 74741 Joni Drive, Unit "A", Palm Desert, CA 92260. There, we also got insulted by the same woman, who refused to identify herself, paid $245 IN CASH and eventually retrieved the our car at 4:14PM. Then, I talked to Fire Marshall, Palm Desert Police, City Hall, etc., and found out that it was illegal, predatory towing. Now, I am going to sue these people, together with HOA, as they are, apparently, approving this kind of "operations" by Towing Company. I guess, they are not doing it for free, knowingly and maliciously breaking the Law.
